Apple car play connection issue?
Whats up party people!?!?!
I got a question, any of you iPhone users experience connection issues? Ever since I got the new iPhone, the cable I was using only connects sometimes. Ive also tried different cables and I get the same result.. I haven't been able to figure out what I do differently when it does connect.. SO that is why I am posting this..
Also, when I plug in the phone to the cable it shows charging for a few seconds then not charging, then charging then not charging.. If any of you have any ideas I would be more than willing to try them out lol
Thanks in advance

I’ve noticed similar issues with cheap iPhone cables off Amazon, even the ones that claim to be “MFi certified.” And newer iPhones seem to be more sensitive to it.
Also have seen problems with multi prong cables as some of the prongs provide power only while other prongs can handle both power & data (ie can be used for CarPlay).
Only other thing is perhaps some lint/etc got into the input on the car or phone. That, and sure you know this, but worth making sure it’s plugged into the lower of the two USB-A inputs.

I've had this issue also when I switched to the iPhone 15 pro max. It was happening with any cable I used even with well reputable MFI certified brands like Anker and Belkin.
However, once I started using the bottom USB port, issue went away and haven't had any connection issues since.

2nd what has been posted thus far.
I had to switch to the official Apple cable and it worked for a time. The phone sits in the passenger seat, but it seems to get a kink after a while and has to be replaced. Upgraded to a metallic/uber-flexible cable and it seems to do the trick.
1. Make sure the phone and Carplay apps are up to date.
2. Make sure you hear a solid ‘snap’ when the cable is inserted.

Ok, so I checked which port I was using, and it was plugged into the top one... I switched to the bottom port and it worked.. only tried it once, but so far it looks like that solved my problem.. Thanks everyone
