I've owned Subaru STI's & out of all the cars I've owned I only dragged one, my old 2006 EVO IX (1st brand new car I ever purchased) There are plenty of other options for drag & tracking out of the factory. To me the IS500 is the perfect balance between performance & spirited driving. The 2UR-GSE is intoxicating though. This run I ran a 12.4 back in 2009 just basic bolt-ons & tune.

Did he mention anything about pricing by any chance? Will MSRP still remain the same on all trims?

Fully expect MSRP to go up. That's just how it is in this market.

^^ I Agree, the question is "by how much!!" Will it be 1k or like 3-5k?

I think the latter is the better guess

He did not say, but I don't see it being a drastic jump. This car was built to be affordable and competitive, no BBK, no oil cooler, no trans cooler, etc. He did say they have gone back and forth about the trans cooler being standard equipment but he thinks in the end they will leave it as an option.

Default Why…

I’ll be upset if there is another IS500 LE. Why would they do that? A re-relaunch doesn’t compute to me….

I am more incline to say that they will have a special edition rather than a launch edition but i could be wrong...heck, they didnt even call it a LE in Japan.

Which was IHMO the way to go, having called it an LE in Japan would've defeated the purpose of an LE.
I'm also on the side of a special edition, a second launch doesn't make any sense. I guess we'll see rather soon, last year the info got out mid-September IIRC.

Don't worry it's Lexus/Toyota, there was the launch edition, then maybe we'll get a special edition, then a carbon fiber edition, followed by a black edition. (joking... maybe)
