Default Damaged Center Cap

Anyone know what may have caused this? I did not curb my wheels, but the center cap alone seems to be cracked. Do you think Lexus will replace these or will it be on me?

OP - is it all 4 wheelsnor just one with multiple angles. I am on my phone and cant see as well. This is not normal at all and would be covered unless they can demonstrate it was done maliciously like someone trying to pry them out or something

the two passenger side ones, not all 4. It's just a picture of just the cap then of the wheel to show that I hadn't curbed it at all.

This is probably why they're suspending production. Can't even make center caps that don't break.

I've never seen one break like that, very strange. I would try to get it warrantied.

The center cap is generic too, so it is not Enkei related, so i am sure they will cover it but i will keep an eye on mine

This should be covered but my buddy @wthrman2 makes a good point. Here in SoFlo people like stealing these off cars, and since they fit basically any Lexus made in the last decade, the person doesn't have to have an IS500 for it to fit. The way that they both failed tells me that someone tried prying them out to steal them, but when two broke, they said F this and went somewhere else. Theoretically this should be covered, but the odds of two of them breaking the same way is slim to none and the dealer will use that against you.

For some reason there are two part numbers for this part:
42603-53140 - $41.22
42603-53130 - $22.88

You'd have to figure out which one you need, but you might have to go down the route of doing it yourself

Damn I'm already paranoid enough when I park my car. Can I just never take the Lexus anywhere that there aren't 100k cars parked around too? Looking at it now, it does seem like someone tried to pry off the right side and gave up after cracking two or possibly took mine and put their broken *** ones on mine.

No self respecting thief would bother to take their time to give you their broken ones.

The takeaway from this is to be careful where you park lol. If I were you I’d get wheel locks because I see that you don’t have any. Next time they’ll just steal the whole rim and worry about the center cap later lol

Garden Grove/Westminster, yeah I should have gotten the wheel locks but I didn't want to add anything else to the cost at the time.
