Lexus never should have changed this slogan. This was so clever and demonstrated the aspirational nature of the company to build the best luxury car money can buy. You will never ever get there, but you are obsessed with the pursuit. So powerful a brand messaging.
Spot on. The original tag line spoke to my soul. Once your tag line becomes iconic, keep it! Then again, they’re replacing the ‘L’ on the backs of cars these days. 🤦🏽♂️🙄
Agreed. I read somewhere a few months ago that Lexus will no longer be the luxury arm of Toyota. Instead they will bring the Century to our shores to take the mantle and upbadge it even more.
^^ Congrats on your UE - It looks amazing and seeing it next to the white, is a good way to compare both colors. I recall that when i traded and brought my 2022 IS 500 for the UE, seeing the 2 side by side made me really like the new one. I read your comments in reddit and it was interesting how you also commented on the fact the red is darker in person than what some photos or the name of the colour suggest. I had the red interior in my white one and I liked it but it was a lot of red so this is a bit more muted (minus the steering wheel) but I don't plan on swapping mine.
As far as the mud flap, I am planning on ordering Frank's but we have been working on trying to get a set of all black rather than the CF. I would prefer all black since there is no CF anywhere so I feel it would blend in a bit better. I did also order the RC F bushings - I know that they are no where near as still and improve the handling like those from RR Racing but where I don't do aggressive cornering and driving with mine, I feel these should be good enough. I may explore the RR racing down the road but the problem I am in Canada and ordering anything from the US is so expensive when you factor the shipping, the 30% exchange rate, the duties and brokerage fees. I know I will go through that with Frank's but there are no other good options for mud flaps but these RC F bushings will be a decent option. The only two other mods I am itching to get is an Apexi mid pipe (resonated) and different wheels (BBS that was on teh car that Mike F showed in the UE edition - those are so beautiful and I am saving up to get me a set - these will not be cheap).
Pardon the dirty front end. This is the second time I’ve taken her up to my mom’s which is about a 120 mile drive. Took mom and my sister to an Italian restaurant tonight which made for a good excuse to drive the 500 up and down the mountain.
When BMW refused to do any "goodwill" help after our dealer told us our 2019 X5 with <40,000 miles needed a new oil pump and a transfer case for a whopping $17,000, we welcomed our 2nd "500"! Bye Bye BMW! Hard to stomach $17,000 repairs for a car that was only worth $25,000 on trade in. For those doubting that BMW should be only leased, we lost a whopping >$60,000 in depreciation on a low mileage X5. We would've been better off leasing 2 X5's in a row as BMW heavily subsidizes their leases than eating all the depreciation.

Having owned a few BMWs in the past (M3 and M2, and Toyota Supra with the B58 engine) i tend to get rid of them as soon as the warranty expires. Sounds like you may have had the inline 6 X5 with the B58 engine. For the most part a very reliable engine which is unfortunately plagued by the plastic internals failing within the Oil Pump on the 2020s and below. I've so many reports on this popping up recently. Most BMWs will depreciate like crazy unless you have an M2 competition or any M3 models.
My sister has the Grand Highlander version of yours, 30k miles on it, and zero issues so far!

Dang that’s crazy! My friend just got an X5. Hopefully he fairs better. Sorry about your wife’s car!
But congrats on the TX! We got that for my wife and she loves it. TX 500h

thanks man! Definitely a more muted red than the picture suggested, and way more muted than the all red seat seats in the 350.
I just stumbled on the Frank’s mud guards as well! Went ahead and pulled the trigger. Like you, I wished it was all black versus carbon fiber but that’s OK. Should be minor
Definitely sucks dealing with exchange rates and shipping and all of that. Hope you find something good soon!

That's great to hear. Thinking about doing the intake mesh mod to protect the AC condenser... The 2.4T engine seems to be stout so far... Just doesn't sound anywhere near as good as the B58, but has good pickup due to hybrid assist.
^^ Looks great!! Can't wait to start contributing and uploading some of my own. I should be able to start diving mine in about 2 week or so, and be prepared for a photo dump! (lol)
Great night shots ! Some of you are real pro's at taking high quality shots - the lightning, the angles, the glistening of the paint, etc. I should hire you to take shots of my Infrared. What's your hourly rate?
Wind on that UE with dark wheels and red brakes looks very sharp, sporty.
