Exact price shown on Lexus.ca plus GST. So about $750 for me with 5% GST.
Man buying this car was the easiest. No haggling, no high pressure sales tactics just straight up transaction like going in to order a pizza.
I went in, said I wanted an IS500 in black/red. Sales guy said ok. I asked how much all in OTD. We spat out numbers 3x. Deal closed with a handshake and a small deposit. Done in 20 minutes. Less than 3 months later, car arrives as promised (he originally estimated 3-4 months for delivery and it came in 1 week under 3 months). Got exactly what I ordered. I just gotta get my bank draft tomorrow, hand it to the sales guy on Saturday then off I go.
That's incredible. A positive sales experience to boot really is the icing on the cake. I was in and out with mine in 30 minutes and that was a month and a half ago and am surprised to be picking it up so soon with all the posts about delays.
Might pull the trigger on the sills as well now. Congratulations!
Alright, regarding the "Placing an order" vs "Getting one of the allocations already in the pipeline when you 'place an order'". So, and this is for Canadian orders, sales guy reiterated that when an order is placed for low volume models like the IS500, LC500 and a couple of the high end SUVs, they are actually built to spec (within the options available) when an order is placed. Lexus Japan doesn't provide these models to dealerships in Canada unless there is an order placed and the vehicle already sold as they are low volume and do not want it sitting on the lot. Makes sense to me. So maybe in the US when one "places an order" the sales guy at the dealership tries to find the spec you "ordered" within their allocations but my sales guy said that the US system is quite different than for us Canadians.
Thanks for the clarification, now it makes sense why I was able to get my combo with no troubles. Congratulations! Very exciting moment for you and enjoy the drive.

Oh and I asked the sales guy to keep it inside the dealership until I pick it up so it doesn't sit on the lot exposed to the elements and he said no problem. Drove it in right away.
Congrats! Your photo reminds me I need to call my sales guy and tell him the moment the car arrives that he needs to remove the front plate mounting bracket and hold it. I don’t need technician drilling my front bumper during PDI, unless they want to pay for another one.
Last November when my mom’s NX350h arrived and I told them not to drill the front. Of course they did though. Thankfully it doesn't bother her but I won’t be so easy haha.

Thanks! Yeah, I told them to keep all the plastic wrap on and do not wash the car and all that.
Awesome it arrived! And you got the Enkeis!! Mine are sitting in my living room lol. You got it just in time to get some driving with the Summer Bridgestones before chilly temps show up.
Will you be driving it in Winter? I remember AmbyBomb showing pics of his winter setup to drive in an Alberta winter. It looked great.

Thanks! Oooh I like those silver Enkeis. Yeah here in Canada we get Enkeis standard. You only get the BBS with the Special Appearance Package. No winter driving for me. I'm traumatized with all the rust on all my vehicles that were driven in the winter. I got my Jeep Grand Cherokee for that which is awesome in the winter. I've never gotten stuck once and we get crazy snow here.
BTW - for those just getting your IS500s, just a heads up, check out Pembridge for insurance. I got a bundled quote for ~$1,800 for 11 months vs the cheapest quote from my other broker of $3,170 with Wawanesa.

Your mention of Pembridge sparked my interest to get a quote, but surprisingly, for me in Ontario (40 y o, clean record) their quote is an eye watering $450 a month, my current is $268 with Desjarins. Must be a multiple factors different that drives their quotes.

no choice here in BC, well sort of. still have to buy basic insurance from Crown Corp ICBC then go to private and buy more but I just went with ICBC and I think mine is about 2500/yr
