Oops, fat fingered and clicked post too early. I do this with every car I have so this one is no different lol. Car is running great, no issues, but I haven't heard other IS500s and wanted to see if it sounds normal.

funny I saw this post.. Not trying to highjack it. but i have the same question. mine seems a little more high pitched than the video above but that might be cause my hood was open? I even brought it to the dealer and they said it was normal. .just want more opinions. I attached the video

Something to try for anyone who has noises while idling:

Shift the car into drive and see whether the noise changes. Then shift to neutral and observe the noise.

For me, the "crickets" noise would go away whenever I shifted to neutral or park.

 

The cricket noise is funny.

 

For those with the high pitched “chirping” noise from under the hood, it’s your high pressure fuel pump.
I had mine replaced under warranty for the same issue. You can use Chevron fuel to minimize the chirp.
I had the pump replaced a year ago and the chirps have not come back.
