Do you really need it? 🤷🏻‍♂️
If I allow the AT&T trial to expire, what will I lose, if anything? I do not need a hotspot.

I typically use WAZE for navigation

I never used it because I have unlimited data on my iPhone and I just use that plan for everything. Why pay for another plan that can only be used in your car every now and then?

That's what I will also do for Sirus XM. I started paying $10 years ago and now it's $26 Cdn. I have lots of data on my phone and can stream music from the internet for free using Bluetooth or wire connection which you need anyways for Android Auto to run. I'd rather use the money saved for golf.

I have used/not used this capability on several vehicles over the past 8-10 years. The strength of the signal is single biggest reason to pay for this, if you are going to be in remote areas where your cell phone as a hotspot just doesn't give you the wifi you need. This was particularly evident in campgrounds and such places. Certainly driving most highways would give you anything you need for listening to a music service using your phone's data plan. I must admit that I like SXM because of the curated selections and the ease of changing channels depending on my mood. I have been using SXM on boats and cars for decades. They will negotiate; never pay full fare. I am currently on a negotiated $3 per month plan.

That's true that the reception in remote areas are better with XM. Sirus gives you a big discount when you phone to cancel. Also I have about 175 CD's on my phone that I can play also when I choose. There is a lot more choice on the Internet-Radio.com. There are literally hundreds of stations of all genres that have 320 bit quality and no cost or passwords. I am going to try that route for a while and see if I like it.

I've used it exactly zero times.

I wouldn't say it's useless, but it's definitely not a necessity.

Based on my past use of this in other vehicles, the only real use is when the passenger wants to do some work on a computer and is not adept at setting up a hotspot on their phone. With music, there are too many cheaper options.

I would not do XM either, though I do have it because I got a lifetime subscription years ago (when they once offered it) and just transfer it from car to car. 😁
to be honest, I don’t listen to it too much unless I’m taking a road trip

I added it to our 2024 LX600 after the trial. Barely ever use it - only in parking lots when I'm waiting for my wife and it's in a dead zone (as much of Annapolis is). But for 96+% of the time ... not needed at all and NOT worth the $20 extra per month.

XM Radio though -- we use it just about every time we drive the cars - the IS500 and the LX600. And I have it on our boat, and in my E63 AMG too. Never listen to regular radio, ever.
