3M™ 680 Caliper Wraps

Ok, on my past vehicles I have always had my brake calipers power coated for one reason or another. I would mostly do this for appearance purposes and I am not 100% sure about the IS500 as this is a sport sedan and I am just trying to visualize the calipers being a color other than black as they do kind of disappear in the wheel and I kind of like that on this car. I guess my main question has anyone wrapped their calipers and how did it turn out? Just looking for options as I really think I may not want to go down the path to get them powder coated.

I am new to this concept.
They don’t discolor or warp from heat? Do they hold more heat in heavy braking? Is it a decal?

I think there was a guy at the meet last week with some wrapped calipers. I didn't ask how long he'd had them. At a glance, I wouldn't have known they were wrapped and not paint.

This has been common place in the GT350 world for years as the base models came with unpainted Brembos. There's a company that makes custom fit kits for GT350's for this, but I don't know of anyone doing the same for the IS500.

The Vinyl holds up great and seems to even hold of decently to medium duty track use.

Wow, that is pretty impressive! Were there any issues with removal?

I dontnknow of anyone who's ever vinyl wrapped their calipers and then removed it. Typically they leave the wrap on, but most GT350's arent exactly daily driven.

My questions, too. Normal street driving might not generate enough heat to affect the material, but I'd personally avoid wrapping anything that is a possible heat source, or hear to one.

I wrapped mine. I daily drive my car with some spirited driving on the weekend and have had no trouble with them yet. Been on about a 2 months now and no peeling or anything and everyone thinks it’s painted. The vinyl used is a high heat resistant material from 3m that’s also reflective when light hits it

To be honest that looks pretty good! I am not sure I would have the skill or patience to pull it off but you have me thinking a little more about it.

This is one of the best companies offering it for the GT350. Not sure if they'd be willling to undertake the development of a kit for the IS500 given our production numbers are even lower than the Shelby cars.
