Short question, with long explanation. Has anyone seen front door interior lower scuff plates? I have searched the forum and the internet, maybe not with the right terms, but it is a dry hole. Apparently, I use my feet as I exit the car and the black panel below the armrest gets scuffed. Not too hard to clean the grey dirt, but I worry about the scuffs long term. I doubt PPF would work as the plastic is pebbled. The searches show lots of sill protection, outside chip protection, and rear door dog scratch protection option, but nothing for the lower interior front doors. Yeah, I am obsessing about this, I know. Thanks
I also have this problem, but I've had it with the last 4 cars I've owned and just developed techniques around it (and I basically think about it every time I get out of my car). Being tall and having bigger feet makes it hard to get out without kicking the door panel. PPF is actually pretty flexible and can get into the texture of the panels. If you search you can find lots of examples in other vehicles and it doesn't look too full of air-bubbles to me. You can buy bulk sheets on Amazon, might be worth experimenting with.
Thanks, I just ordered some and will give it a try. I have used PPF on an exterior, but never on a textured surface. At least trying it can do no harm.
I've seen them called "anti-kick" pads for my other car but not for the IS. I've never tried it since most of the reviews complain about the thin vinyl and incorrect shape so I would think a competent wrap shop can do something similar for our cars.
I, too, am a door card scarring enthusiast for some reason. Most of my color transfers come off with cleaning but I have a 2" mark that looks like someone attacked it with a dull phillip's head.
I used 3M vinyl, very easy to use. Still wet so I'll see what it looks like dry tomorrow or so. I lined it up with the pocket because that is all that is visible with the door closed. If I don't like it I can always peel it off.

Maybe a matter finish clear vinyl would be less noticeable?
The problem with any material is it will get kicked and dirty and creates just another problem for cleaning, probably worse than cleaning the plastic door panel. Also, I noticed this morning that the texture of the door panel has captured some moisture that I cannot squeegee out with a plastic piece or roller, like I can with a smooth substrate. I'm going to give it more time to dry since it isn't exactly good weather for moisture evaporation at this time of year here. I am not yet convinced that vinyl is a bad idea, but my second plan would be something with more of a matte look. I still have to see if any ppf will stick properly to the pebble finish.
I cannot get your link to work; when I type that into Amazon, there are pages of nothing like what we are talking about??? Do you mean the adhesive backed velvet in black? If so, I can tell you that the first time my shoe contacts that stuff, it will leave a dirt mark that I will not be able to just wipe off....

The link works for me. Search "BOGAR TECH DESIGNS Precut Automotive Car Door Anti Kick Protection Suede Velvet" on the Amazon web site. It says you can wipe it off easily. Just an idea, I don't have a problem hitting the door when I get out.
Now that has class and I would buy it except....I cannot find our car on Amazon or the Bogar Tech website. I will have to ask them and do some other searches. Thanks
I cannot find anyone here or even in China that makes such a thing for our car, although the material is available in bulk...not my forte. This would be the classy solution and I do have an email in to Bogar Tech. Good idea, but indications are not encouraging.

They do show several other Lexus models, really surprised they don't have the IS. Hopefully the respond to you with a positive answer!
