Coilovers
Just curios to see if anyone has attempted to use 2021+ IS350 coilovers on the IS500? I really dont think that any drastic changes go into these suspension parts just because it has a different engine.
I currently have the RR Racing coilovers that ran about $2300.
I see that there are many options for the IS350 for around $1000 - $1200 range like BC racing, Megan and D2.
I had D2 and Megan on 2 previous Lexus and never had any issues with this and would just like to know if it be worth a try.
The coilovers I have run nice, but cant get rid of a slight knock from the rears even orders new swift springs for stiffer ride and nothing changed.
Removed the rear and currently using the lowing springs from RS-R in the rear and kept the RR Racing coilvers in the front because they have felt great up to now, but do not want to continue using springs in the rear and coils in the front since it defeats the purpose of what I spent on coilovers. I am willing to try Megan or BC, but if anyone has attempted this please chime in.

have you tried getting a hold of @RRRacing and giving them feedback about your set? i'm sure there's a difference in coils over sets between the 2 cars; otherwise they'd advertise the sets could be used for both applications

I had BC racing on my old 350 and my other cars I had, nothing wrong with some of the entry coilovers just buy the brand with good rep like BC Racing and have them adjusted properly, but don't run IS350 coilovers on IS500 cuz spring rates for sure is gonna be a different and shock/struts valving is probably different with the extra weight of the V8. You can run it cuz we can't stop you but it'll probably throw the handling off or you'll bottoming out if you hit a big dip on the highway
V8 vs v6 engine, not worth the difference because of spring rates.
We've been doing RSR coilovers for IS500 owners.

It is only the rear. RR Racing did replace the strut from the original and it went down significantly, but after they settled in it got a little louder. Then ordered lower spring rate springs from swift recommended by RR Racing and swapped it out, but the knock is still there.
I removed the rear coilovers and mounted the RS-R lowering springs in the rear and kept the front coilovers for now.
No noise at all, but I want to ride with the full coilover set because it just feels way better.
So I was just curios to see if anyone tried any other brand and what was their experience.

Maybe since the RR Racing do not include the divorced spring it adds more weight creating the knock?
Can you send me your contact info so I can ask a few more questions?
