Oil burning
We’re going on two years now, you know I don’t exaggerate and we know enough of the same folks for you to verify. 😉😉😉
I freely love and accept y’all’s right to putzness, please extend the same courtesy and accept my choice not to be. It’s all good!! 😎

I need to find me one of those work from home gigs so all my driving is pleasure driving! We're looking at moving out of CA when my mom hits 65 in a couple years... maybe that'll be the time I switch careers, but starting over in my 40s does not sound fun.
LOL that's why this car is great... 7 am I'm driving slow to work, but 3:30 pm I'm doing triple digits trying to get the hell out of there and get home 😁 and it does both pretty good!

Come to GA. The food is awesome and the mountain runs are awesome!
As for the oil burning, if you're not sure it's the correct oil, just have a lab check it out.
And as for me, I will also continue to drive the way I do. I see no reason to idle a 2023 model-year vehicle to warm it - this is a modern vehicle. Plus, I intend to keep it long term, so I am going to do my best not to abuse the running gear, even if it is currently under warranty. Tony knows from experience that I drive this car the way it was meant to be driven when the situation arises, but that doesn't mean I have to be in S+ mode, manual shifting mode hitting redline 99% of the time I am in it. I drive like a grandpa if I am in town or just running errands because I am saving the high RPMs for when we do go to the mountains or if I am taking some therapy time for myself.
edit: To clarify, I don't put the car in gear immediately when I hop in - I usually let the revs drop + a few extra seconds. So, on a cold start I typically am sitting there in Park for like 20-30 seconds.
Bottom line, I am still standing by the fact that Tony and EhArgh are the only ones with oil consumption that I know of, and both have stated they also remote-start and warm up the car before driving off. There could be a connection between these factors. If anyone else is experiencing oil loss and has different habits, please chime in.

I would slip both ES’ out of overdrive in order to pass drivers (regularly), my ‘06 IS350 was locked into ECT+PWR mode 100% of the time, and all 3 were fully dealer serviced and made it to 200k+ miles.
Now I’m in a superior vehicle in every way and my driving style has been consistent for decades, so we’ll see what happens! 😎
C’mon on over then!
We visit area restaurants roughly 4 times a week. We can go the OpenTable route, I’ve been a member since 2007 and have accrued 10k points a few times. Or we can go the hole-in-the-wall route, some of which were Anthony Bourdain approved. The Michelin reviewers visited Georgia for the first time ever last month, so we’ll see if any of my haunts will be listed.
Totally not germane to burning oil, but there you have it. 😂

I wanted to apologize for derailing the thread talking about warming up the car. There are much more likely explanations for why this is happening. I hope no one was offended by my insistence that owner error was more likely than dealership error.
No worries! It’s cold out, let’s go get some hot cider and drag Mac’s instigate’n a$$ with us to pay. 😎
I've read in the past that letting your car idle to warm up is not as good as starting the car and driving it to warm up. The oil goes through the gears as you drive it to warm up versus just sitting there at idle. I know I don't idle to warm up.
Update.
For all those who care & are still following:
- dealership was hesistant to take blame for the incorrect quantity and weight of oil put into the vehicle.
- they have checked throughly for burning/dripping oil of any kind and have found none.
- they did an oil change with the correct quantity of oil & weight.
- will be going back in about a month for a oil consumption test to see how much if any has burned.
