My 2023 infrared driver's door makes an annoying clicking noise every time you open and close it. I've taken a good look at it and it appears to be that the door check it's not the way it should be and is the culprit of the noise. While I don't like the noise, I don't really want to take this car with a thousand miles to the dealer to have somebody take the door panel apart to replace it, and in the process potentially scratch the door jamb area. Has anyone else had any problem with the door check being noisy and if so what did you do?

 

From the sounds of it, I'd rather leave it alone if you dont want to risk the dealer scratching the door. Personally, if it bothered me enough to the point it hindered my experience of driving the car, then yea I would rather take it to the dealer and just hope that they do it carefully.

 

Have some trust. I'm meticulous like you but I took our 2022 Highlander with 1000 miles to the Toyota dealer to have the door check replaced and they did a stellar job. You wouldn't even realize they took it apart.

 

Take it in. But when you drop it off, take a ton of photos of any spots you are worried about..

 

I have this. He lubed it up but did nothing. It’s honestly not as noticeable and I think it actually goes away with time.
