fuel pump replacement after 7 months on IS500 LAUNCH
Hi Everyone,
My car broke down last week it's a IS 500 Launch I had It towed to my dealership as my tow truck driver said It was the fuel pump that went so I am In Canada It's a 2-3 week waiting period to get this part. So I am not happy I only have 12000km on my car.

REALLY sorry to hear. This is the one thing I dread. And the bank doesn't pause the required payments while you are unable to drive the car either. Hope the fuel pump arrives sooner than later...
I thought these fuel pump issues were resolved? I know I had a recall on my 2019 RC 350 about the fuel pumps - Golly this car is not the Lexus I was expecting - Fun to drive but it is worrisome to see these issues crop up....CEL, bumper sagging, fuel pump issues...

What do payments have to do with whether or not you’re driving the car? You’re paying into the ownership of it, not to drive it.

They had a recall on the fuel pump in my ES too! And the car smelled like gas for a month after they did it

edit: oh are you leasing? Hmm
My guess would be paying for something you can't use? A friend at work had a Benz that was down a month for repairs and MB actually made her payment that month.

Yeah that makes sense if you're leasing, but not if you bought the car and its just a monthly interest payment. For example, a lender doesn't pay your home mortgage while your house is fumigated.
‘Glad’ it’s only taking 2-3 weeks to get the part. Word is that fuel pump production shortages is why 2022 IS500 production was stopped and presumably why 2023 production isn’t currently planned.
