The brakes on the 500 have been around close to decade since they first came out on the GS and RC. So your argument is flawed in that regards. And it’s not a piece of software that becomes obsolete as time passes. Brakes are one of those things that truthfully can’t be reinvented. It’s not a part that becomes obsolete with time. And people are talking about getting brand new parts. Not used or remanufactured parts. The way I see your argument it’s not different than you saying “why do ppl want to put a 100+ year old round wheels on a new car?” There’s a reason why the wheel hasn’t been reinvented in over a century. It doesn’t mean it’s bad

Does anyone know if the 2021 Lexus Is350 Fsport rotor work with the ISF caliper? I know if we upgrade to GSF caliper we also have to upgrade the rotor.
Thanks in advance

scroll up to the top of the thread (post #6) and you'll see that you will need the stock IS500 front rotor or the 2013 and up GS350 f sport 356mm front rotors to line up with ISF caliper. the IS350 front rotors are 334mm and will not work with ISF front caliper.

I was also wondering if you swap to IS-F front calipers do you also need to upgrade to the IS-F's brake master cylinder, or is the stock IS500 BMC sufficient?

Tried to order the front calipers, but the left front is on national back order. Wonder how long it will take to receive?

Just to give you a heads up. I ordered the IS-F front caliper back in June.

They keep changing the ETA to July, August, and now September. I wanted IS-F brakes so I could use the spare tire but I gave up and exchanged for RC/GS F calipers.

At least RC/GS F calipers were in stock.

oh man, thanks for the heads up. I just asked them on a ETA. Guess might have to cancel and go the RC route. I wanted the ISF calipers for the spare tire too.

** they just got back and said last they heard was an ETA of December now.

then you need to add the pin kit: PN: 04947-0W010 must buy TWO. one for each caliper. this is the big bolt in the middle. You can also add the oem shims too if you want: PN: 04945-0W010 must buy TWO.
Add any front brake pads you like from 08-14 Lexus ISF. I personally use stoptech Street pads, you can find them on ebay. or any pads on rockauto. 100% bolt on. cool mod that should have been stock

@89is500 nice video!
Would the IS-F Dust shields fit the IS500 Rotors?

If you were to use the IS-F calipers and IS 500 dust shields then you would have to cut or bend the dust shields.

Right, so I am wondering if the IS-F dust shield fit the IS500 rotors? I could just exchange the dust shields and not have to cut or bend original IS500 dust shield.

do you mean if the ISF dust shield fits on the is500 knuckle? you will not be using the 500s rotors if you upgrade to the ISF calipers.

So, I am planning to "upgrade" the IS500 calipers to the 6-pot IS-F calipers. In order to do that, the dust shields need to be bent or trimmed to fit the IS-F calipers. So, would changing the dust shields from the IS500 to the IS-F be doable to avoid cutting the original dust shields?
