Automatic lights issue - Turning on with left turn blinker
Have any of you encountered a problem with the twilight sensor that activates the dashboard illumination with the left turn signal?
The car is a 2016 IS200T F-Sport, facelifted.
Recently, something like this appeared in my case, at first I thought that the charger connected to the cigarette lighter socket is doing some short-circuit because after unplugging it and restarting the car, the problem stopped appearing. But today it started happening again, without the charger plugged in (or anything else).
When the lights are on, the problem does not occur, but when they are off or on in Auto mode, dashboard illumination flashes in the rhythm of the left turn signals. With the right one it's working as expected.
Yes, I have those LED lamps on the front. So, you suggest one of the turn signals led bulbs could be broken and this is causing the issue? Are they replaceable or entire headlight should be changed?
They are replaceable. If your headlight is similar to 2023, then you grab the gray plastic thing, twist is about 1/4 turn and pull the bulb back, out of the headlight.
No, the car is 100% OEM with those lights. Now it's somehow fixed now, but the issue returned and disappeared twice last week.
So probably it is something related to the "ground" connection, a broken day/night sensor, or maybe broken LED lights (LED bulbs?) that are causing this issue.
The car is set for tomorrow to a local Lexus dealer so I will see if they could find the root cause.
