About a year ago I got a really good deal on a used 15 IS250. A few weeks into owning it, the door lock actuators in the front driver side door and passenger side door both went bad. The place I got it from agreed to fix it, however, 3 trips there and they never completely fixed it, stating they got the wrong parts and a part being defective from factory, etc. The passenger side door doesn't open from the inside, only outside. It locks and unlocks fine. The driver side they were able to fix, but it only lasted about 7 months and now it only unlocks with the manual key by physically unlocking it. The dealership is almost 4 hours away from me, I had to wait in their lobby for the car all 3 times and I really don't want to have to drive back there and wait 5+ hours again. Is there an inherent issue with the actuators that the failure rate is that high? I'm a college student and really don't want to have to pay a $600 repair bill from an actual Lexus dealership and want to try and repair myself. Are the ones on Rock Auto worth getting for $20? If not, what should I get. I'm tired of driving a "luxury" brand that has given me more problems than any other vehicle I've owned. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
