B2311 code
Anyone knows any specifics pertaining to the code, conditions and remedies? All windows are opening and closing without issues.
If you have Techstream, you can try to reinitialize the power window control system to see if that helps gets things back into place.
If you have Techstream, you can try to reinitialize the power window control system to see if that helps gets things back into place.
All three will have the below conditions and troubleshoot in relation to their respective sides:
- Power window motor malfunction - conditions met:
- power window regulator motor assembly is malfunctioning
- ECU for power window regulator motor determines the window position has deviated approximately 20mm or more from normal position
- Troubleshoot:
- power window regulator motor assembly
- incorrect installation of power window components
- overheated power window regulator motor assembly
- wire harness or connector
- Power window regulator motor assembly replaced with another one; removed and reinstalled - initialize the power window control system
- Inspect fuses for circuits relating to the system
You can try to initialize the system again if you have Techstream of know someone who will let you use it. Clear the DTCs first, roll down the windows and try to lube/grease the window rails. Then find each regulator assemblies and reconnect all harnesses to the system. You may inspect the end connectors to see if there are any damaged or oxidized areas. I think someone sprayed some WD-40 into their radio unit connectors since they were getting some issues. If you do go this route, I would pick up electronics contact cleaner and some should have a solution with the cleaner that lubes/greases the contacts after cleaning at the same time. DeoxIt makes something for this on electronics.

I usually scan my car at least once a month so it would have popped up. I dont have a techstream, but several months ago Lexus dealer inspected the car and did not find this code either.

I've made it a point to lube/grease the channels a little bit every 6 months when I do a total wipe down of the door jams. Just something that was pointed out by YouTube mechanics on prolonging window motors and making sure there isn't much resistance when the windows slide. I believe you want to get white grease and WD-40 makes a special one in a silver can I believe with an attached spray nozzle straw. You can also get grease that is more universal for door hinges and other places that you might want to regrease over time.
I know you probably are thinking about it too much, I felt the same when the HVAC system was getting funky for a month and after Techstream I was able to reset the system to get it back in working condition. If you have a spare laptop with Windows 10 64-bit, you can repurpose it as a Techstream laptop to be able to perform in-depth diagnostics and self-checks to any subsystems.

One caveat - I was pulling those fuses while car was one step away from starting engine ignition wise. Dont know if it matters, but gonna leave it here anyway.
