Fuel Injectors?
Hello everybody (long time no see I know). So my IS starting having an idle problem where it would feel like it was almost going to stall out. As long as I wasn’t idling it was fine no issues. I cleaned the MAF sensor and that didn’t help, put a different MAF sensor on, that made it worse (wasn’t OEM) so put the stock one back on. I was suspecting maybe a throttle body/ IAC problem but didn’t want to mess with that without confirming it was that for sure. Took it to the dealer and they said it needs new fuel injectors which will be covered under warranty so no issues there. My question now is, at 51k miles, is it common for the fuel injectors to fail that early? Would increased boost cause earlier failure of the injectors? Could it have been bad fuel? I usually only pump Costco premium gas which is supposedly “Top Tier”. My only argument about the gas is that how can gas really be the issue if most other cars run perfectly fine for years only getting Costco gas? Do Lexus vehicles just have more “delicate” injectors? Just looking for thoughts on the matter. Thanks in advance everyone.
