Default Interior rattle over rough roads

Hi there,

I have a 2021 IS350 fsport and there is this rattle started since a few months ago, it seems like a plastic noise or more like something got loose around the centre console/passenger side whenever I go over "washboard types of pavements". Since then I took it to dealership few times and none of the tech can identify the location or replicate the noise.

Does anyone here have the same problem? If yes would you please share how did you identify/fix it?

Thank you and much appreciated!

My 2020 F-Sport sometimes gets a rattle around the top part of the lower center console. Maybe in front of the gear shifter at lower speeds. Usually after the car has been sitting over night and is cold. Only lasts for a few minutes, then goes away. Sounds like metal on metal or styrofoam. I've never brought it up to the dealer, as it doesn't last long enough for them to hear it.

I have something similar as well, seems to be more towards the passenger side of the dash or perhaps the front of the door. I haven't figured out where it is coming from. But, I do notice that the sound usually goes away after 10-20 minutes of driving.

I am sorry to hear you’re having the same issue too, its been driving me crazy. I opened the glove box last night and tap inside the compartment and it seems like the sound is coming from there.

I am going to email the dealer and see if I can get them to have a look there.

I have the same noise in my car and it’s so frustrating. I went to two different dealers and none of them could replicate it and identify where the noise is coming from. It literally sounds like a plastic is loose and it’s vibrating with the car.

Let’s keep each other posted if we figure out something, I am also very frustrated to the point to not keep this car.

I have a suggestion it might help, try to remove the retainer piece from the glove box and see

I also have a rattle somewhere around or behind my glovebox! One time I removed all the contents and I thought it stopped, but I think it mightve still been faint. I have not tried removing that tray.

Glad I'm not alone. Fortunately we have 4 years from date of purchase under the basic warranty to figure this out.

My rattles are basically from centre console (sounds like where the two cup holders located), to the bottom of glove box, and to the passenger side (maybe under the seat or close to the door panel) it seems like just keep on moving around.

Mine sounds like it is from under the center speaker cover or the central backup mirror cover. I tried to take the mirror plastic cover off and used my hand to hold on those plastic clips inside to see if the sound would stop, but unfortunately it didn’t. I honestly don’t even know now because I live in the area with rough roads and it happens all the time, so now it sounds like it is everywhere in the car lol. When I brought the car to the dealer two months ago they said they could take the whole dash off but there probably would be more rattling noise after they reinstall the dash, but now I kinda want them to actually do that because I really want to have this issue resolved. I will go to the dealer one more time after I finish with the school, and I will keep you guys updated

Are you guys having someone else drive while you sit passenger and try to isolate and muffle the rattle? That's the one thing I haven't put much effort into trying yet. I'm usually always the one driving. But I definitely need to do this before giving up and going to the dealership.

I have and for some reason when the tech is in the passenger seat the sound is barely there which makes me sound insane lol.
I am going to get someone to drive it and myself sitting at the rear to try to isolate the location.

The first time I went to the dealer, the tech did a test drive with me. I was on the passenger seat and it was DEAD SILENT. The day I got my car back, the sound came back, even though the report said it was fixed and I should never hear it again.
