Default Black Sponge 4IS 2021

Can someone help me to find the part number of the black sponge part on the 2021 IS350 cowl panel ?
it is on the left and the right side of the cowl.
is it part of the cowl panel or a separate part ?

You could look at Lexuspartsnow and check the Related Parts and see which ones look the most similar, otherwise it is going to be pretty tough to narrow it down. Why not ask a dealership parts advisor?

Couldn’t find this part , and it is starting to wear out, I think it is supposed to prevent water from going inside the bay, it is made of a very weak sponge material. I thought maybe someone here replaced the cowl and knows about it.

Starting to wear out? On a 2021, that would be concerning.

I'm with @GNS on dealership interaction here. It's a 2021, it's ostensibly still under warranty. You shouldn't have to pay for anything out of pocket or do a ton of research on a car that's brand-new.

I was surprised seeing such a weak and soft part in the the cowl panel, it is basically a sponge 🧽 cheap quality sponge

Just curious, is there something you noticed or something that happened that led to your wanting to replace this? Like, is there evidence of excess water in the engine bay if you think that's what the part is for?

I wonder if that's what it is actually for. Could it be an air flow thing? Maybe to direct hot air so as not to pass over the fender/mirrors?

You could be right about the hot air , and the only thing I’ve noticed is that it is starting to wear out.

I went and looked at the same part on my car, and they look basically like yours, with a bit more wear. It still works fine, it isn't torn or anything. When you close the hood, you can shine a flashlight at that area and try to figure what it is for, exactly, it might be to keep the cowl from rattling at the ends, when the hood hinges are compressing the foam. Based on your pics, I don't think it's worth replacing as it may be part of the cowl subassembly itself, glued or taped into place when it is made.

3IS*

I think it's just noise abatement. it looks after-the-fact meaning sort of a band-aid from 2014's design. Sometimes manufacturers do that after they've designed everything, have all the contracts and molds/suppliers sorted out then discover a problem later on. like oh crap there's a gap here. lets come up with a cheap part quick. or it could be a business decision, maybe X part needs to fit other model's width, but leaves a gap for another model, but instead of designing two separate parts, it's cheaper to have a sponge cutout.

could be many reasons. could also help mitigate hood bounce/flex. close investigation and deep dive into parts would help find out why.

anyway as stated, i would not worry about it unless you tore it by accident.

also to add to that, Toyota is known for not leaving ONE red cent on the table. if they can do ANYTHING to save a cent, they'll do it. most companies are like this but toyota is really really like this.
