Default Question for 2021-2022 owners

For those of you who drive a 2021 or 2022 IS 350, do you have any feedback on the placement of the shifter + trackpad + armrest? One review I watched mentioned if you're resting your hand on the shifter while driving then your wrist presses down on the trackpad. I don't remember where I saw or heard someone make mention of this problem since I've been watching so many video reviews. I had a 2015 IS and this wasn't a problem but now that the trackpad has been moved....

One more question: if a passenger is up front, does their left elbow land where the cupholders are? That was a problem in my 2015 where the cupholders were in such a weird spot. If there were drinks then the passenger lost their portion of the armrest. If no drinks, then their elbow was almost always resting right where the cupholder was.

Thanks in advance!

Shifter position is perfect and I have not had any issues with my wrist pressing on the shift ****. You shouldn’t be resting your hand on shifter either when driving, it’s not a manual and it’s bad practice.

Your passenger shouldn’t really be having their elbow on the center console, that just seems weird and unnatural.

For whatever it's worth, it's generally not a good idea to rest your hand on the gear selector while driving an automatic... But, no, I have not noticed anything like that with my 2021. I don't think my wrist bends far enough to let my wrist rest on the track pad, if that makes sense. The gear selector is pretty tall.

Earlier IS model years had really bad cupholder placement, honestly. The newer ones have the cupholders much farther forward, and the passenger armrest is behind them. Since the thread starter is asking about 2021-2022, I assume this wouldn't be an issue.

Never noticed that as an issue in either my old 2021 IS350 or my 2022 IS500 which is basically the same set-up.

Thanks for the input so far! Here's a picture of the armrest in a 2015. Notice the cupholder placement. It does look like the 21-22 model years have more armrest coverage.
