Default Replacing TPMS sensor thread.

Okay I haven’t really found concise information on the tpms sensors for the 3rd gen IS from 2014-2020…

Does anyone have a clue if these Amazon sensors will work?
Marsflex TPMS Sensor Compatible for Toyota Scion Pontiac Lexus, Camry rav4 Scion Yaris Corolla Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor Replaces# 42607-33011 PMV-107J 42607-33021 42607-06011 315MHz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092HXSBGZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6KDN0E2JNQMZ8GW2TAPE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I don’t think it necessary paying 240-400 for sensors that we never see.
I’m sure either these or Any other brand Amazon or eBay has under 100 has to work. I tried a set already and they where duds. Didn’t work but doesn’t mean they all are useless.

Not worth fixing IMO. Put some black tape over the light on your dash and just monitor tire pressure the old school way.

You're putting black tape on your IS500's brand new dash?

Just go on eBay and search Bell Lexus and get new sensors and have them programmed. Not sure if you're getting aftermarket wheels, just transfer them over, that's what I did. Do NOT buy Amazon / eBay cheap-o sensors.. they are FAKE. Even WITH the original packaging. I saw a seller selling as OEM on eBay and if you check his reviews, it says the light doesn't go away. I refuse to ever have any lights on my dash, it looks foolish

If it goes out and I'm not longer under warranty, yes I would consider it. Or I would just live with it.

Especially riding on low profile tires I prefer having TPMS sensors.

My TPMS light has been on and off for many months. I check my tire pressure. I'm dealing with a serious health issue
currently. When I can, I will get it fixed.

So I switched to aftermarket wheels, and installing the OEM TPMS sensors on it…. Yeah the Amazon ones are a hit or miss I feel like.

If anyone had Luck with the TPMS sensors from Amazon let us know on this thread and post the links…

for now I’ll keep running the ones I have as they work the only reason I was looking to replace was because I got new Wheels, tires, and lug nuts…. So I figured wth brand new everything. But 250 at discount tire for their low quality ones and 300 for the top ones… lmao is a joke to me….

I don’t want to loose the feature on dash where it tells me my tire pressure as I constantly monitor that.

Try TireRack. I bought the sensors along with my winter wheel/tire setup from them, works flawlessly. You can just buy the sensors from them also, $48 each.

Yes they do, all the time, no glitches.

We seemed to have determined that they provided sensors made by the OE manufacturer Pacific Industrial, part number T5.
So you can google it, and look for the best price (provided they are actually new and not ‘aged’ sensors).

Sorry to add on to this thread, but did not want to start a new thread. I would like to ask is it possible to know the remaining battery life of the TPMS sensor inside the tires? My car is going to be seven years and although the tire pressure still displays fine, I would like to know the remaining battery life if possible.

No. Some scan tools will give you a warning when the battery is low but I’ve seen batteries fail not too long after getting a good reading. I can say though that the vehicle ECU typically picks up signals better that a scan tool so if the scan tool does not read the sensor and the tpms light is still off you should change the sensor anyways.
