Default Remote Start without enform?

Okay. So I purchased a 2019 Fsport from carmax and decided to test the keyfob for remote start. It works, but I'm not sure why. As I understand it, the remote start should not work without an enform subscription. I went to register the car on the app, but the app says that it doesn't recognize the information on record, which leads me to believe that someone has paid for it or is still paying for it. I contacted Lexus and a nice woman "linked" the car to me, then had to transfer me to someone from enform that barely spoke english and said that I should be good to go. I then contacted Lexus through chat and was told to call another number and provide an insurance card for proof of ownership. I haven't called back yet, and probably won't if I don't need to, but is the subscription needed just to start the car?

In theory, yes, the Enform Remote subscription would be needed to start the car. Sounds like maybe there is an active subscription, as you stated earlier. Expect that active subscription to eventually go away.

Another thing - since it's a 2019, I believe it would have come with a free trial period of Enform Remote. Nowadays it's free for 3 years following purchase - I'd have to do some research and see whether that was the case for a 2019.

Moderator edit: the huge images plugging the product made this look like an advertisement, so I've removed them. Please follow up via private message if you believe this was done in error. - arentz07

I have 2019 too, I believe we can remote start with the key for 10 years after the original purchase. I forgot the key strokes to remote start it, but you can definitely do it for sure.

There we go. I couldn't recall how long the trial was. Thanks!

The way to do it with the key fob is to press the lock button 3 times and then hold it down for about 5 seconds. If you're doing it right the hazards with flash briefly.
