Default Help me find the perfect wheels!

Hey all. Been lurking for a year or so since I picked up my '17 350 Fsport. Its very soon time for tires, which means I've got a case of 'while I'm at it'.

I poured over the show off your wheel thread for far longer than I'd like to admit. I'm not a fan at all of the 'stretched' trend and/or having the wheel outside of the fender. Wheel wise, I'm pretty sold on the Enkei Raijin looks. Hyper silver should look great on a Atomic Silver IS. I'd like to run 235/40 front and 265/35 on the rear. I'm not married to it, but seems ideal. The Raijin is available with an 8.5 +35 which seems perfect for the front. If I'm calculating right, that puts the rim just about 11mm farther outboard than stock. The rear wheel options is a 9.5 +35, which would stick the rim a whopping 27mm farther out, over an inch. I haven't seen any modded IS's in person so its difficult to make an assessment based on pics, but I'm thinking thats just too much. If I go with a 9.5 rear, 45 seems like a better offset. Or alternatively, keep the 255 width and run 8.5+35 front and rear? But then the front tire diameter is .4 more than the rear if I run 235/255, or run 225 front but then its stretched on a 8.5 rim........

So I'm open to input! Whats out there that has a similar look, 18", isn't BBS pricing, and is available in 8.5+35, and 9/9.5+40/45? Or have I just seen bad angle pictures and 9.5+35 would be fine? Oh also, car is stock height for now. If I do lower it, It'll be on Fsport or half down springs. I wont be lowering more than an inch ever. But before that'd I'd need to get a custom hitch for my bike rack so it doesnt drag on everything.

Welcome to the forum!

It's nice to see you giving this some extensive though before purchasing.
However, the match is a tiny bit off...an 8.5 +35 on the front would actually be 16.4mm further out, which is fine...you could even go 8.5 +30, making the poke now 21.4mm.
The rear you were almost spot on, it would be 27.7mm with a 9.5 +35.
A 9.5 +35 could cause some rubbing, especially with a 265/35.
I would suggest for the rear 9.5 +38 to +42 (making the poke 24.7mm to 20.7mm)...you could go to +45, but you're not gaining anything at that point.

With the offsets I mentioned above you can lower the car 1 inch or more and you'd be fine.
As to actual rims, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so whatever you like, you like.

Thanks for the reply! Check my math, the stock offset for the front I believe is 40. Assuming same offset, an 8.5 will stick out 1/4” farther, or 6.35mm. Add another 5mm for the +35 offset?

I think my ultimate question is help finding some similar wheels with the right offsets. I found some Avante wheels that look amazing and they will do custom offsets, but I think they’re priced out of range for me. I haven’t shopped for wheels in years, so there are probably some brands I’ll miss if I don’t know what to Google for. Thanks!

Here are the wheels specs for the staggered setup:
18x8 +45
18x8.5 +50

Your math was correct, just you started with the incorrect offset for the front.

Here are the specs I run:
18x8.5 +35 235/40/18
18x9.5 +38 265/35/18
I use a narrow fitting tire, Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.
I'm also lowered on RSR Downs with no rubbing even with 4 occupants (me and 3 teenage children).

I was thinking of sticking with pilot sports but I’ll checkout Firestone.

Found some Enkei TSV that I think would look good. They come in 18x8.5 38 and 18x9.5 38 so looks like I might find a winner. Got any fender pics of your setup?
