Default Loud brakes

Hey guys, swapped my 250 for a 350. Loving it so far. Only issue is that with these brakes squeak loud usually on cold starts and when reversing with my foot heavy on the brake.
I took it to a Lexus dealer here in Melbourne to get it checked, they advised that the brakes are at 90% and the dealership slapped them on to make the car road worthy, they also advised that the dealer binned the brake shims which is what is causing the squeak. They offered to replace the aftermarket brakes with OEM along with shims for $1400…
If the brakes are completely fine I don’t think replacing them is worth it with that figure quoted.
TDLR:
Can I purchase front and rear shims and simply add them myself on aftermarket brakes?
I just assumed the dealer binned them because they are not compatible with aftermarket brakes?

Without knowing what pads are in there now it's hard to say if the shims would fit. There is a good chance they will, but no guarantee.
Front pads and shims are roughly $150CAD, not sure about the rear but it's probably in the same ballpark...so let's say $300CAD for parts and then whatever labor.
For $1400 I'm assuming they want to put rotors on as well...does it need rotors too?

Thanks for the quick response, they didn’t mention anything about the rotors. All in all they said everything is good to last, but to remove the squeak shims need to be in with OEM parts.
I’m out here in Australia, $1400 is definitely ridiculous.
I’m thinking of putting the shims in myself, is there a set you could recommend?

The oem part number for the front shims is 04945-30360. They are about $36CAD.
Do you know if the squeak is from the front or rear?
You could just replace one set first if you're not sure and then see how it goes after.

If they just “slapped on” new pads (would the OEM shims fit? we don’t know) maybe they didn’t even grease them. Before paying $1400 for anything, I’d take the pads off, grease them good (and anything else that should be greased, pins, sliders, whatever), and then see if they still squeak.

confident it’s the rear, I will try the rear set then first. Thank you
I will also grease them while I’m down there. I will keep you posted if all goes well
