Default Getting a second key made

Hi,
I recently purchased at 2020 IS 300 and it only came with one key. I would like to get another key made, what’s a cheaper alternative to getting one made at a Lexus dealership? Thanks in advance!

Google "car key cutting" or something along those lines. Then check the reviews for some reputable automotive locksmiths in your area. Used car dealers use those kinds of places all the time. Some of them will have spare fobs set aside and will just have to cut an insert and program the fob/s to your vehicle.

Get one of those Lexus cards that work as a key fob. They look really cool

I think you can go on eBay, buy the key from there and then follow instructions above. I believe you have to also get it programmed to work with your car. Definitely cheaper alternatives, how much is the dealer asking though?

buy a used key. with or without key blade ~ $80 (I have some laying around)
find a locksmith that can program car to take the key and cut new blade. While he’s in there, he can erase the lost key.~$80+ (Shop around)

its $400 all together at the dealer.

Awesome thanks! With CarPlay, will I be able to use the car key capabilities with this car? Trying to decide if that’s a better option for me…
