So i noticed after, a few days after getting my car back from the dealer my instrument cluster glass had some kind of chemical burn?
Almost like they cleaned the inside of my car with something and it left the plastic with burn type marks and i cant seem to get them out.
any one have an idea how much it would be to get this fixed or how i could do so? The dealership claims they didnt clean the inside of my car but i have my doubts....
I had that. Stupid auto body shop used a cleaner that left those stains. I used a plastic compound hat got it out but it left micro marring on the panel which I could see in sunlight. I complained to my dealer and he replaced it for free as a courtesy.

It's a $65 part with an hour of labor.
Yeah, Its driving me crazy.. I guess that's not to bad... Im curious how it came out with the compound? Probably better off just getting a new one, i wish they would just own up to it.
Thanks for the info man.

My dealership left a scratch on my glass on the lower right corner and it sucks.
Isn't it plastic? I have a scratch on mine (no idea where it came from) right where there is a warning light...so i see it every start up. Drives me nuts.

Tanin Auto Electronix here. We are vendors on the site and wanted to chime in on this one to help everyone protect their car's interiors. It is absolutely plastic. Not glass. No one should be using Windex with ammonia on their lens at all.
Here is a blog post that we have on how to properly clean a cluster and what to use:

I used PlastX to clean the spot that the auto body shop left with their cleaner and the PlastX left micro marring. It's too abrasive for the IS350 gauge cluster. I was extremely careful too. I would use a damp cloth to clean and that's it. If you get it washed by someone else, leave specific instructions to not clean the gauge cluster.

Is there a chance that the auto body used Armour All? Or do you know what they used on it that you then put PlastX over? We use it with no issues at all so this definitely sounds like they put something else on there first that they didn't tell you.

They used something crappy like Armour All but I was able to get it out using the PlastX. However, there were two spots that were spaced apart...one in the middle of the glass and one at the edge. I used PlastX on the two spots and everything in between. I could see significnat micro marring between those two spots. I used a detailing microfiber pad and high quality microfibers for this. It was definitely the PlastX...i think its too abrasive for this application. Under normal light, you couldn't see the micro marring but under direct sunlight, it was there and bothered me.

So there is no chance that the scratches came from the Armour All and the PlastX brought it out? It sounds like you are using the correct microfiber cloths too, which we recommend, Did you leave the PlastX sit on the lens for a long period of time? That is the only other thing that we can think of that could have caused any type of issue. But we use this product and never had any issues at all.
