Apple CarPlay Options
2020 IS 350 F Sport
Apologies for asking a question that has been asked several times... I've been reading various threads on here on this topic and I'm just wondering if a solid "Go To" Apple CarPlay option has been established. I've been reading up on the Grom VL2 and on the Lexion. Curious to hear from those that have experience w/ either of those systems... or if there's another option people have tried.

I've had my Lexion unit with the larger screen for a little over a month. It's fantastic. No issues.
Everything is smooth, connects lightning fast (wired and wireless) and the screen makes a huge
difference. I paid $200 to have it installed. A guy on the forum came and saw it in action and loved
it as well. I'm in the Bay Area BTW. The communication is spotty with the company, but for me it was
worth the wait. I didn't want any issues and there are none.

Can you film a video of you using your trackpad and show a video of it booting up? Thanks in advance!
both Lexus and Lexion. The only thing I cannot do is if I use any kind of sound from the Lexus side, I will not hear audio turn by turn directions
in CarPlay. Not a big deal. If I use Spotify or my radio app in CarPlay, then I will hear turn by turn directions. The screen is now 10.25 inches, so not having
audio turn by turn is not a big deal if I want to play music from the Lexus side, such as a CD, radio station that is not available in CarPlay, or my flash
drive. Here is a video done by a guy in the UK last year. The three apps you see in the video are on the left side here in the US, but other than that
it's the same. Boot time for CarPlay is lightning fast and there is a setting you can check to have it connect automatically.
The shop did install the microphone that came with the unit and it works fine. Siri works great with it. I have a joystick in my IS with navigation. The joystick works perfectly with
both Lexus and Lexion. The only thing I cannot do is if I use any kind of sound from the Lexus side, I will not hear audio turn by turn directions

The way this system works is all audio from unit comes out in AUX input. So if you listen to OEM radio you will not hear any navigation audio from the unit until you switch back to AUX. It doesn’t work like oem navigation where you can hear both.
Which unit did you buy because I saw 2 on their site and how much was it w/ shipping? & does steering controls work, more specifically when you want to change it to next song?

This is the shop: https://hi-techcaraudio.com/
Highly recommended. I've had them do various installations with excellent results. It was $200 to do the Lexion installation.
I dropped it off at 9 and got it back about 1.
