Default Considering a 2015 IS 250

Hi all. I've been a participant in the 5th Gen ES forum for a year or so. I loved that car to death. It was quiet, smooth and didn't leak oil. The engine block only had dust on it. Poor beast was rear ended by a drunk/sleeping driver last Mother's Day and totaled. Needless to say that car sold me on the Lexus brand.

A local lot has a 2015 with 44,000 miles on it and from the pics it looks beautiful. I just thought I'd ask y'all owners what your thoughts are on this vintage of vehicle. I've owned a lot of cars and have my opinions. I will never buy another Ford. My most reliable rig has been my 1994 K2500 Suburban (bought in 1997 when we had our 4th child) which I still have at 210,000 miles and now has become my hunting rig. I've had 3 7th Gen Accords but they're nothing special. I must say I was very impressed with my 2007 ES350.

Anything y'all can share is very much appreciated.

I've got a 2014 is250. As a daily driver, it's pretty great.
Bit lacking in power for some, gets pretty nice gas mileage depending on your foot.
But I have no real complaints.
Coming from an es, you might find it stiffer/smaller.
However it's very fun to drive.
Plan on driving mine till it dies on me.

2014 IS250 here as well - 43k miles so far. No complaints - great solid build quality, flawless reliability so far, and it gets a lot of compliments on its looks. I just got back this past weekend from 420 mile road trip - averaged 35 mpg.

I'd be pretty much echoing everything my fellow 250 owners have said.
Fuel mileage is good, styling and comfort are good, performance is decent.
If you really want/need the power, then obviously the 350 is the logical choice...but for a daily the 250 is more than sufficient.
Every car has it's few little issues, but nothing that would stop you from getting from A to B.

Thanks guys. The ES350 was my wife's. I currently drive a 2007 Accord with a 2.4 liter engine and before the Lexus she also drove the same Accord. I'm guessing the power is similar and it is plenty. Although the 350 could be a rocket ship when you needed it.

Did some quick looking up
Assuming an 07 accord lx? 3133 lbs 166 hp
2015 is250 RWD 3461 lbs 204 hp
Power weight ratio comes out to around 19 lbs per horsepower for the accord, 17 lbs per for the is.
A bit of a gain in that case! The 250 can get going as well, just takes a bit of time and some high revs haha. But not the rocket power of the 3.5L for sure.

To be honest, for a vehicle lacking in power like the IS250, the gas mileage is pretty damn low.. Im actually getting 2mpg average more on my m240i than my IS..

That's the biggest downside to me. 100hp less than the 350 and only slightly better mpg.

I drove a 350 but spent some time in the 250, really smooth ride. That comment on the creaks/rattles is not common. I sold my 350 at 108k miles and it was rattle free. Creaks here/there not often .

I think you can guarantee with age that it's reasonable for some creaks to develope...in cars and poeple!
My IS is 7.5+ years old and really only has one creak during the winter months that's not even that noticeable.
