This is a weird one guys and maybe ya'll know what I am talking about and maybe you don't. On my wife's 2021 the headlights are the single beam and not the triple beam. They have plenty of light and a great pattern, but they put off a weird black spot right before the cut off. Almost making it look like something is in the road? I tried to video it but my phone wouldn't capture it. Does anybody know what I am talking about? Is that supposed to be there as not to blind oncoming traffic? Is there a way to remove it?
Whatever is there I'm sure it's deliberate. Lexus does not create their own light systems, they source them from the same place Mazda, Ford, Toyota, Subaru etc gets it. I am fairly certain the 2021 IS, 7ES uses Koito's Version 2 of their BI-LED which is sold to many customers (brands) around the world. You actually share headlight (internals) with the Mazda 6 and Subaru Forester believe it or not. (the 2021 IS does anyway)
I was the first in the Lexus community to run (modified) Quad-Koitos in the 3IS! Actually technically Six-Koitos if you want to be technical. But they were the lousy pre-gen 1 twin beams. no bi function. but still decent
I am guessing it's just a part of the beam pattern. post up a shot against a wall.
It doesn't show up well on a wall, but I will try to capture it tonight. You can see it plainly at night near the light beam cutoff. But my phone can't capture that image being so far away.
Here is a pic showing them on my garage wall, little "L" shaped images, once the lights shine down the road they give off a black spot right before the cut off.

It's obviously purposely done as it's consistent on both sides.
I suggest sending the pics to the dealer and address it with them.
There's nothing you/us can do to change that.
Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. It is annoying on a dark road late at night because it makes it look like something is in road. But if it's normal, it's normal.
