Default Bitter Sweet Goodbye

I've been a Lexus owner of various models since 2006. I made the decision to make a brand switch back in December of 2020 once I saw that Lexus really wasn't going anywhere with a new design or performance of the IS350. I finally took delivery of my new vehicle this week after it was built here in Munich Germany and I'm happy to say that I am very satisfied with my decision. I traded in my 2014 IS350 F-Sport for a 2021 BMW M3 Competition with 510HP. This thing is a beast of a machine to drive and it's awesome! It's loaded with incredible technology to include a wireless phone charger, WiFi, and the ability to have a digital Apple CarKey. I was able to purchase this beauty way below MSRP due to the discounts I received along with my Lexus trade in. I may make a switch back to Lexus in the future but that is to be determined.

This group has been amazing over the last 15 years with all sorts of knowledge, self help, reviews, and advice. Be kind to each other and keep this forum going. Thanks guys and until we meet again.....

Wow congrats!! Yeah I traded my 14 IS350 for a F80 M4. Definitely a difference can't imagine a 2021 M3 lol. As much as I love lexus it's just hard to beat a BMW for an all around car.

M3 competition is like 40k more expensive (here at least) it better be a beast. 🤣

On a side note, they completely f'd up that front grill. 🥴

Must watch... Massive improvement would be an understatement.

Congrats on the M3, I am also thinking about placing an order for one in stick. You were able to get a discount off sticker?

Congrats! Just don't look at the car from the front, and you will love everything else!

I think i will eventually too. I just want 1 V8 car in my lifetime and this may be it.

I hates all the images of the rear end, but have you seen it in person? I felt differently when I was actually next to one and saw it on the road. Still my least favorite part of the car but somehow much better in person imo. Just saw one again a couple hours ago (IS350) and I liked it. Looks bigger too although barely is.

And congrats on the M3 OP. A different car entirely. I always like the initial feel of a BMW in the steering wheel. With time feels "numb" but when you have that much power not necessarily a bad thing.

Have not seen it in person yet. If they're really doing a new ISF I'm definitely going to get it but I'm not sure how it'll be different from the is500...

For the cost of the new ISF, I just ended up buying a used Nissan GT-R instead. It makes many more sounds and smells than the highly refined Lexus, but the fun factor and modability supersedes what the Lexus offers IMO. Both cars infotainment are about on the same level, which leaves a lot to be desired.

I think a lot of people went to different brands and cars like the M3, simply because there was no upgrade path before the IS500. The IS350 is a fine sports sedan but its kinda a base model in terms of performance vs. the Germans. Now at least, people that love Lexus can upgrade to the IS500 as the next steps. With that said, the IS500 or ISF isn't nearly the same level as an M3 or GTR so maybe those buyers would have left anyway

Congrats. I've always wanted the M3. It's the car I would get whenever I leave Lexus. I hated the grill at first but it's not as bad anymore. Enjoy it.

Congrats I've had my share of them, you'll LOVE the performance...the maintenance and reliability not so much.
