Unhappy Coolant Leak / Overheating

2017 IS Turbo F Sport

I was encountering a minor overheating issue last month and noticed that the coolant was low. I filled it back up and ran fine.

Today, I was driving about 20 mins to my warehouse. Temp gauge went all the way up with red marker. I stopped safely and opened the hood. Engine bay was splashed with liquid everywhere. Coolant reservoir was still at the "full" level.

Ended up waiting 2 hours for a tow truck and had the car towed back. I noticed a huge puddle a couple hours later under my car after I moved it into the garage. Coolant res was empty. So I refilled it again and now its leaking from what looks like the water pump.

Take a look at the video link below. I would like to thank you all in advance for your input, advice and opinions.

Wow...that leak is no joke.
Looks like the seal inside the waterpump has failed...time for a new pump.
I'd check and make sure the coolant didn't get all over the serpentine belt, as it may need replacement also.
Additionally, it looks like the coolant dripping is some sort of green color...make sure when you change the pump to drain as much coolant as possible and fill with the Toyota coolant.
Waterpumps do go, it happens, by no means are they meant to last forever.

It was the water pump. The seal was warped and from what I was told, it is a common problem. Unfortunately, there is not a recall for it yet due to not having enough cases but they see it a lot and is usually covered. My purchase was a CPO and got covered under the L/Cert warranty. They also replace the belts and hoses. Runs like new again.

Wow, I'm glad you got it covered under warranty. I on the other hand, have no idea if mines still the original. No issues yet "knock on wood" at 156k miles on my 15 350 f-sport. I may tackle the job this summer for preventative measure since it doesn't appear to be that difficult.
