Welcome to the forum!

What year/model do you have?
I assume you have a 3IS, probably 2014-16, but sometimes we get new members posting in the wrong forum...you could be driving a ES in which case the instructions won't be much help.

Is there any update to this? Mine has had the same problem since I bought it October 2020.

Did you replace it with an OEM motor or aftermarket and how has it held up?

The motor is directly underneath the Dome light assembly. You should be able to remove it from the opening when the Dome light is removed.

I see, where does everyone source new motors, Lexus OEM? or is there a good aftermarket alternative?

I would try Megazip.net if you can get the part number for the motor. It's quickest to find the part on that site with the part number.
They sell OEM parts, for much less is most cases, and have warehouses in Japan and the UAE...so shipping to Australia shouldn't be anything special.
I've shipped parts from both their warehouses to Canada and even with the shipping I saved a significant amount over getting it at the local dealer...and it was delivered to my door...and the shipping was less than 2 weeks, in some cases 1 week.

Default Help with my sunroof on my 2014 IS350

Hi, I’m currently having the same issue with my 2014 IS350 Fsport. Just bought the car last week, and from the moment I bought the sunroof wasn’t working at all when I was pushing the switches, but this morning I pushed the open button again expecting nothing to happen again but it surprisingly opened perfectly, but after that it went back to what it was again, it doesn’t close and doesn’t work, so now I’m stuck with an open sunroof in chicago weather. Lexus dealer also said it will cost something around $2500 to fix it for me which I’m not going to pay that much! I opened the light to access the sunroof motor, but from there I can’t really figure out what to do to get the motor out. I would massively appreciate it if someone who knows about it can give me their phone number or give me a call to help me out!!
thank you so much!
