Call me stupid, I can’t find it. Trying to install a tow hook license plate frame. I just don’t want the license plate in the middle. They already drilled it in I’m gonna have to cover the two little holes hidden in the grill any suggestions on that.

 

Owners manual...page 333 at the bottom and then the top of 334 of the printed manual. The online PDF is 335 and 336.
There is a small portion of the grill on the left side that pops out to expose the tow hook location...it's about half way up right against the chrome trim surround.

Not sure if you found it but in the 2021 it’s in the front grill. Did you end up using the tow hook in the grill? I’m trying to find a solution. If you did. Do you have a picture on how it looks?

I did find the location it’s a summer project. It’s on the right side towards the top of the grill it looks like he just pop it out with a tool. To be honest when I get an oil change I’ll probably have them do it for me that way I don’t screw it up. I just I’m going to remount the license plate using the tow hook. On my last car I used a tow hook license plate mount it pushes the plate off to the side and it looks better than being in the middle of the car.

 

I found it as well and I popped it out carefully with my fingers but I’m not liking the new location on it. To be honest i thought the tow hooks look slightly deeper than the original location. I didn’t even attempt to put the tow hook plate frame. Looking for an alternative solution.

 

I bought a tow hook plate frame on online and I put it on my STI and it was by far was the best one I’ve ever seen you can adjust how far it sticks out you could tighten the hell out of it so it doesn’t move you literally could put it a quarter inch off the paint if you want. I’m wondering how mine would look can you take a picture of what it looks like popped out. I’m trying to judge what this will look like

Those are pretty awesome because of the adjustability. Seen those on quite a few cars before.

And that tow hook plate frame will look amazing there because you can make it low profile it’s gonna look better than the big blob I got in the front. When I bought the car the license plate frame was already on but it’s kind of easy since it’s recessed in the grill you take out the screws you probably put little plastic covers over it or I got to be honest with you you can leave it there and nobody would see the holes anyways

 

Send a picture when you mount. Wouldn't it look kinda of weird off centered? Seems like it would be the focus of attention vs. The actual beauty of the entire front end.

agreed. I do have the tow hook plate in my f sport... but I have mine so it doesn’t bother the grill at all, it’s only covering the bumper. This will cover the bumper and grill. Can’t wait to see how it looks tho.
