I bought a used 2018 IS300 F-Sport AWD - somehow the previous owner scratched-up the instrument cluster pretty bad - I have no idea why/how they did this. Fortunately, it's only really noticeable when the light hits it at certain angles (like in the pic). Any ideas or suggestions on how to either fix this or make it less noticeable (though honestly, I'm nervous to try something if I might end up making it worse!). Thank you. Scratches on Instrument Cluster
Try Meguiars Ultimate Compound. My dealer left scratches on my instrument cluster chasing a HUD rattle on my BMW M4. I used the Meguiars polishing compound but it wouldn't make a difference. The UC did but if it's really deep it wouldn't get it out. I have like 1 line remaining from the scratches but it's too deep to compound out by hand.
Not sure, but if you want to buy a new cover it is ~$30. Pretty cheap if you really want a cleaner cover
The OEM plastic piece is only $30 or so??
mine was scratched when I bought it from last owner, dealer said it’s a $90 piece (I’m in Canada) and they charge an hour to replace.

Yeah, $30-40 in the US before tax and shipping. I forgot if you need to remove the cluster from the dash to change the glass, but even with it it would be a ~35 min job even if you've never done it before. The glass is held on by some clips. It took me 20 mins to replace my cluster with basic tools when I upgraded from base to F-sport.
My research into this lead me to buy a can of Plexus...No idea if it works or not, I have not tried it yet, but I would be happy to report back when I do.

Doesn't work great. I tried once and i could see micro scratches in the sun. I complained to the dealer and they did a courtesy replacement. Maybe you'll have better luck

probably is not not work. The film and the adhesive layer would need to be 100% transparent and clear, because any imperfection or milkiness would absolutely ruin it. I think polishing is a better option.
