Nice to see other Seattle owners! Hoping I'll come across the owner of the Molten Pearl IS500 here some day haha.
206..Yes! I've seen that car in the morning's in my commute to the office to Seattle but have not seen him here on this forum! The Molten pearl I'm talking about is the car that was purchase at Bellevue Lexus.
Haha yeah I think we're talking about the same car! I usually see it around Bellevue and I recall seeing the Lexus of Bellevue plate frame on it. I've also caught it driving around Mercer/Westlake, definitely did not try to follow them around for a bit...
Took the leap! Wrapping my trim...no way I'm paying for the is500 trim @ 600+ each piece lol. Thieves I tell you!
FYI I did the top ones on the car and tucked uner the trim. Came out 100%. For the lower ones I removed the trim and used 3m cutting tape because using a blade was out of the question also came out 100%.
Wrapping trim is hard as hell!! Chrome delete is done baby!
So I went on a journey and decided I would wrap my own trim. Now a bit of context...I've done everything on my car myself from fabrication of custom rear skirts and mudflaps, paint matching front lip, roof wrap, custom light extension cutouts, led lighting swap interior, installed upgraded rear swawbar links and lowering springs + Figs LCA bushings in the front, 4" cold air intake. Why? People don't know wtf they are doing and every single time I brought previous cars somewhere, doesn't matter if it's dealership, high end shops, 5 star google recommended or suggestion from a friend, it's never REALLY well done as we're just a #. Most times the job is crap. P.S. I didn't use a heat gun 😀 if you can do it outside, the sun should heat it enough.
What does it look like with the tail lights on? I can't even see them!
Also, how did you do this?
Dark Smoke
Man it looks so sick!! Used cutting tape and if you've been following the thread you'll know I've been practicing my wrapping lol. Used cutting tape and covered to about 2mm extra around the bar. Took like an hour...
The picture is without brakes. The brakes light like a xmas 🎄 tree.
