Default IS200t Takeda Intake issues

So I got the Takeda intake cause some people said it was good and I thought why not try it out.
Anyway, the airbox, the intake pipe is ok, but the silicon elbow that connects the air pipe to the turbo and oil breather hose is absolute garbage.

First, the diameter of the connection to the oil breather hose is too small. Really small and when you have rubber exposed to oil it tends to harden and will make it crack.
Second, the worm gear clamps they sent with it are oversized and there is about 2 to 3 inches of extra length. I can get some other ones but why would they give these, really?
Third, the silicon elbow itself is so thin, that it will collapse in on itself if there is any vacuum, really thin.

Please tell me your experience, or do you agree it's garbage where it connects to the turbo/oil breather.

I want to return it, as it is just not the quality I want to put on my car. Any help, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks.

Ok update, the silicon elbow is still garbage, weak and thin doesn't hold any shape and collapses easily.




With that out of the way what I did was tried to see if I had something I could use as a sleeve to use with the breather hose. I measured the fitting it is over 25.5 (25.49) mm while the stock connector is just under 30 (29.97) mm.



I couldn't find anything to use as a sleeve to make up for the missing 5mm, then I used some electrical tape wrapping the first time reversed so it wouldn't adhere to the fitting and the rest the regular way keeping a clean straight wrap and built up the >5mm needed so I could keep the hose from becoming weak, breaking and using the OEM spring clamp. After that I used a smaller worm gear clamp and viola now it's a better fit.




But my personal self, that silicon elbow ruins this product and I will go ahead try it out and return it. Not happy, still waiting to see what aFe Power says. This thing is far too expensive for me to have to engineer a decent fit on my vehicle even then it's not up to par for something that is the best.

Get the HPS silicone shortram intake.. it fits snugly.... here's a video of the installation

UPDATE...

Contacted aFe Power and they are going to send an updated silicon elbow with hardware.
I think that is pretty good and shows what kind of company they are. They care about their customers and went above and beyond.
