Default IS 200t Replacement Key/fob

Looking @ buying a '16 IS 200T for my wife. The dealership (not Lexus) only has 1 key. What's the process for getting another key & what's the associated costs? I live near Dallas, Texas if that matters.
Thanks.

The costs associated with getting a key will be whatever the dealer near you is charging.
While Toyota does have an MSRP, the dealer can sell parts for less or more is they choose.

The Smart Key is about $200 Canadian, I think, so whatever that is approx. in US dollar.
The key will need to be programmed to the vehicle.
There is also the blade key that fits in the side of the Smart Key that needs to be cut to the key code for the vehicle.
Programming and cutting you're looking about another $100.
I believe the blade key is sold seperate...so there would be a cost for that as well.

A complete fully functioning Smart Key is not cheap by any means.

You can get a used smart key (remote} from Ebay for $80-$100. There are number & letters on the outside & inside the case that MUST match the one you buy, try & buy one that includes a new uncut blade key Also it needs to be "unlocked" (virgin- ready to program). Some locksmiths can program it or you may have to take it to the Lexus Dealer as it's quite involved.

Smart Keys can only be programmed once to a vehicle, and then it can only ever be used with that vehicle.
Be aware of this when buying them from eBay or the like.
Some sell the keys not knowing this...and some sell them purposely knowing this.

I suggest taking it to the dealer and getting it done. You don't want to be stuck without a key. A very expensive proposition to have a key
made without another key. That's the first thing I did when I bought the car used in October. While I was there waiting for it to be programmed,
a woman was there with an older Lexus who had to pay $1,000 to buy and have her new key programmed, as she lost her one and only key.

I've used several used Lexus FOBs & Smart Key remotes, mostly bought on Ebay, in fact I just had the last one done today, this time I used a Toyota Dealer. These Lexus FOBS & Smart Key Fobs can be programed to a Lexus/Toyota car many times (you program the car not the key fob) to recognize the key/fob.
When you buy a used one follow the post I put in up above with the 3 correct I D# & you will get it done . Used Ebay Smart Key Fob $85 Toyota program $70.

I think there should be a clarification between Toyota/Lexus Remote Transmitters (Fobs) and Smart Keys.
Fobs can be programmed to any vehicle they are compatible with. They hold no immobiliser information for starting the vehicle, hence why they can be programmed to any vehicle at any time.
Fobs only serve to Lock/Unlock doors, sliding doors, open Trunks, and have a button for Panic mode.

Smart keys are Remote Transmitters and Immobiliser keys all in one. They can actually be programmed independently where the buttons function and the immobiliser does not.
When a Smart Key is programmed to a vehicle, it's basically a "marrying" process where they are programmed to each other. The key can always be erased from the vehicle, but the vehicle cannot be erased from the key, at least not at the dealer level.
Here is a notice from the Repair Manual when you are trying to add additional keys...which would be the case in this thread:

It's quite possible that in the aftermarket world a process has been developed to erase the programmed information from the key and reset it to a virgin-like state for it to be programmed again.
@Johnny3 If you aware of this process or have a link to a provider that can perform this service, please post it. This would useful information for anyone that happens to purchase a used key that cannot be programmed.
