Default Parts query

hi!

Can anyone tell me what exactly we call this part and where i can get areplacement for it?

I know it's connected to the hood and provides added protection in case of impact.

Tried the lexus is350 club on facebook but noone could give me a response.

thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum!

Interesting part you have there. I think the lack of response is likely due to the fact that North American cars don't have that part.
Based on the yellow harness it's part of the SRS system.
Since you said it was attached to the hood, I'm guessing it's similar to the system found on the North American LC500 (Pop Up Hood system) when the hood is impacted it pops the hood up...usually it's to soften the impact to pedestrians.
I'm not sure the exact part name, but I believe it's called a Hood Lifter.

On some European spec’d cars, that would be part of the ‘Pedestrian Impact System’, at least that’s what Jaguar calls it.

See whether this is the part you are looking for?

https://parts.lexus.com/p/lexus__/LI...346053020.html

You can get it off ebay for much less..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/53460-53021...-/324010791200

There are left and right side to this, both different parts number..I believe it is called pop-up hood lifter assembly.

53460-53021 - Right
53470-53021 - Left
