for those WITH Cooled Seats
They are TRASH if the cabin is warm or hot. People say to do the iphone box hack which is to direct the air from the rear passenger ac vent straight up into the seat where the little fans push air through the seats. I haven't tried it, but it has to be better than how it is stock because all I feel is hot air blowing through the seats during the warmer days if I leave my car outside. It's really nice if the cabin is nice and cold because then you feel that really nice cool air on your back and butt haha.

thanks BrettKA7!
I did the iPhone box mod, slight improvement. It helps to put the air on the feet setting to so cold air makes it under the seat.
On a hot day, if cars parked outside, the ventilated seats are HORRIBLE. Cooler day, maybe parked in a garage or something, they work ok. I’m definitely disappointed in mine.

Auto HVAC directs cool air to the dash vents when it is hot out. Easiest hack of all is when
it is extremely hot out, tap the HVAC "Mode" button (fussy graphic with face/floor/defroster) just once.
The Auto light goes out and you are now blowing cool air to both the face and floor vents.
Cool floor can now be picked up by the ventilated seat fans.

They actually do work and the iPhone box makes it work better. I tested it in the Fall / Winter time when the air was cold and it was shooting out really cold air, so it definitely has something to do with cabin temp. I would wait till the car warms up and then turn it on, iPhone box mod is a must. However, I noticed in 2018+ RC I drove, the ventillation worked really really well without any mods.

much thanks for the advice!....if i was fortunate enough to HAVE ventilated/cooled seats...
They are ventilated seats, not cooled, meaning they just push around whatever the temperature of air is under the seat.

question, so on say a Hot Day...is it BETTER to actually just leave that setting off?
no, because eventually the cabin cools down and it doesn't take very long to do so, so even without the iphone box mod, you'll eventually have cool air directed at you, but i'd do the iphone box mod to redirect the a/c vent air directly into the ventilated seat intake.
if you turn them on instantly, the seat will get hot. let the cabin cool down, then turn it on. in the new RC, i noticed, it didn't matter if it was hot outside, they were cool.. I think the IS gets jipped on this feature unless they made them better in the 2018+ models
