Lease Question
Does any body know what kind of modifications I can make to a leased lexus? I want to paint the brake calipers and the rim but i don't know if they'll have a problem with it when I return it. Also what are some recommendations to mods to start with? I have a 2020 IS 350 F sport RWD that I got 6 days ago
I am not too sure there are many modifications that are unacceptable. Several owners on here have returned their leases with:
1. Aftermarket suspension
2. Non OEM wheels
3. Tinted windows
4. Aftermarket exhausts
5. Aftermarket intakes
6. Aftermarket aesthetics such as spoilers and lips
7. Change in OEM features such as non-fog to fog or upgrading headlights
8. Etc.
I personally don't think your changes are a deal breaker

You can do whatever just realize the dealer has the option to charge you for any unoriginal equipment on the car when you return it. Most cars go to auction, some end up on the lot for certified resale. But the option is always their to charge you. To be safe, always return your car as stock as possible. If not, be prepared to pony up.
I returned my car stock and only got charged $136 for admin fees. Car was listed auction and sold to a dealer up north in two weeks. That dealer then sold that car in less than a week.

Agreed. I'd think painted calipers won't have a big impact on your lease-return, especially if you go conservative. Ultimately they will just sell the car at auction and you'll have to either pay the difference or get refunded if the auction price exceeds the residual value, whichever one works out better in your favor. If you have any doubts, just... either don't do it, or just ask your dealer.
