First time posting here. I recently just bought my first Lexus 2 weeks ago. Sold my old 2004 Infiniti G35 and bought a 2016 Lexus IS 200t (base model) in the NGP color and I couldn't be happier.
I've been going through the forums and have learned a lot. Never really been heavily into cars/modding, so a lot the terms used in the forums i have to look up. I really wanted to be sure that my question have not been brought up yet before posting.
Anyway, I've decided that my first few mods that I would do is to lower the car with RSR Down Springs and install an aftermarket set of wheels. Luckily, I did manage to find someone selling some wheels+tires locally. I just got my stimulus check (lol i know) and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger for this purchase. But first, i would like to make sure the I am making the right decision before committing fully. I would really appreciate it if some of you guys can give me an advice! So here are the details:
Wheels: Work CR Kiwami
19x9.5 +38 / 19x9.5 +25 (square set up)
Tires: Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2
245/40/19 all around
Sale price: $1,950
*overall condition of wheels & tires 9/10*
Here are my questions:
1. Will this setup work with the planned RSR down springs? If not, what springs should I opt in?
2. Will I experience rubbing issues? Fender rolling required? (I prefer not to if possible)
3. Is this a good price/value?
4. Future problems with this set up?
Thank you in advance. I do apologize for such a lengthy first post. Looking forward on hearing back from the community. Stay safe and stay healthy everyone!
1. Will this setup work with the planned RSR down springs? If not, what springs should I opt in? It will not work, the springs are not the issue. 2. Will I experience rubbing issues? Fender rolling required? (I prefer not to if possible) You will have rubbing issues in the front...fender rolling won't fix it. 3. Is this a good price/value? No idea what they are worth 4. Future problems with this set up? Refer to questions 1 and 2 above
For a truly square setup the rims and tires all have to be the same...in this case 2 rims have a lower offset, so not really square as you wouldn't be able to rotate them if the front did fit.
The front offset is too low and the tire is too tall.
You could use four of the rear rims, 19x9.5 +38 with a 255/35/19 tire all around for a true square setup...even with the RSR Downs.

Thank you for such a quick response. From what you have stated, 2 (19x9.5 +25) of the 4 wheels wouldn't work due to the lower offset. Also, the tire size wouldn't work either.
I think i will go with the Aodhan DS02 i saw online which was my second option. They are 19x8.5/9.5 +35 staggered set up with better fitting tire specs like suggested on other posts.
Thanks again for confirming. Take care and stay safe!

If you're going to put 19x9.5 +35 on the rear, then I would go no larger than a 255/30/19.
Generally on the rear you want +38 or higher offset, so +35 is really cutting it close.
