Default Infotainment system

This morning out of a sudden, my 2014 is infotainment system keep going on a loop showing the lexus logo over and over again. None of the button or holding power button seems to help although holding the power button seems to have slight effect but then it continue doing that. Try turning car off and on, doesnt seems to help. Was thinking of rebooting by unplugging battery next.

Any one has any experience with this?

I would try unplugging/replacing the battery. If nothing else, you could get a battery test done - being a 2014, it would be about the time I'd expect the battery to need replacement if it's not been done yet. Hopefully it's the battery and not the head unit itself.

This is a common issue you will find multiple threads on...including the screen going black as well.
Try disconnecting the battery for minimum 10 minutes.
If that doesn't work, disconnect it again for 10 minutes, but remove the micro SD card this time. After reconnecting the battery and starting the vehicle up, when prompted insert the micro SD card.
If that fails, then you might be looking at a new radio head unit...really that is the only for sure fix at this time.

Update:

I try replacing the battery, this time the system does not even boot up at all and is showing black screen.

Go back to my post above and go through those steps again.
If they don't work, or you already did that and still nothing, then the radio head unit is done.

Tried after removing the micro SD, still nothing.. I guess time to hold a funeral.

Any idea what the cost is replacing something like that? I notice the car USB died with it too, now it is no longer charging..

The USB ports are connected directly to the radio.

If you look at the face of the radio, at the bottom left the is the ID number...it starts with the letter P.
You can use that number to search for a used replacement unit.
Unfortunately that's you best option besides brand new which is about $2K.

They should just recall the 2014's for this issue, at some point all 2014's run into it.

It would be tough to have a recall for that since it doesn't impact the safety of the vehicles operation.
Generally recalls are centered around safety issues...whether direct or indirect.

I wonder what the root cause of the issue is. If it's the head unit itself, I assume there'd be an updated part no. you could use for replacement?

Do you know if 2015’s use the same head unit?
ive seen a lot of 2014’s with the issue but don’t recall seeing 2015’s with problems.

I've noticed the same thing...all 2014, but no 2015's.
And yes it's the same head unit/part number...which is also odd.
Makes me think something happened during the 2013/2014 head unit productions that was resolved with the 2015 model year of the vehicle.
Since the software is all the same, then it must be a hardware issue. Just a guess though.

Crazy. I feel terrible for the ppl who bought a new head unit, absurd cost. funny how things work.
It’s also been interesting to see across all model year FSport’s with the digital gauges seem to have held up exceptionally well, I’ve only seen 2 guys in here have trouble with them...One the motor to move the digital gauge failed and the other had some dark patches on his. I remember lots of people saying those gauges looked like a recipe for disaster. Complete opposite of the head units.

I’ve had the same issue with my 2016. Started my car one day and it was stuck in a boot loop. Sometimes it takes a couple min before it’ll even come on after starting the car. I just got it, with a warranty so I’ll probably see if I can get it replaced. I wonder if anyone that’s had theirs replaced or replaced their’s has had an issue after that?
