I went the other way and went with a small wing

Just kidding

Obviously looks / style are a subjective things and based on personal taste, but my personal opinion is a I do not think big wings look good on cars that don't actually functionally need them for downforce, basically Supercars hitting 160+ mph. But again that is just my personal opinion.

I think some of the factory wings on some cars look ok, like the old TT supra's, the STI's, and even some GTR's, can look good, but I don't think they look good on car like ours. Again just personal opinion.

I remember back in the day after the first fast and the furious came out and every honda civic on the planet had a giant wing and that just killed the look for me.

man, you crack me up lol

Personally, I wouldn't put on my IS. But I think the STI style will look better vs the Supra style if you want to go big wing.

Don't let me, or anyone, dissuade you from something you want / looks good to you though. If you are interested in a wing and you like the look, that is all that matters.

I can't say I've seen any pics of any on a 3IS though and I look through a lot of build threads, pics, videos, ect about our car, but I'm sure there are some out there.

Another tricky thing about rear wings is rear window visibility, get one too tall for clear visibility and it looks dumb, too short and you can't see ****, something to consider.

That’s all a matter of personal taste.
The 1970 Plymouth Superbird is still my dream car (though I’ll never be able to afford a nice one). It’s rear wing stands tall to allow the trunk to open (wing is attached to the fenders).

Yup. It's a thing, some people are into it and I say do what you like. I think less = more. But every once in a while I see full body kits and mods which look great.

Used to see these more often back in the early 2000s.
Purely for looks unless your regularly driving around +120mph, which please dont.

Maybe not this big though lol

Absolutely agree everything about this topic is personal taste. The the Superbird is a beast and awesome car, but it's also 3 feet longer than our car, wider, and a muscle car so the perspective of that giant wing is different, it still huge though but it pulls it off lol. Our IS cars are very short and compact, so in my personal preference a tall one might not look good.

Wish there was a website where you could upload your car, then play around with different add-ons and mods, and a be able to rotate 360 and check things out to get a feel for what might look good or bad, that would be cool to play with

That size is not bad at all, assuming visibility is decent, I don't think that particular style fits with the rest of the cars lines and style, but that size of wing, with the right design might be cool!

Richie was running a full swan neck back in the day - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...ld-thread.html

edit: actually, the thread only has pictures of the GT wing (his first on the IS), he went with a swan neck after.

This thread has me wondering...

Does anybody know if the SARD wing for the 2IS will fit on the 3IS? Can anybody provide measurements to compare on the trunk lids?
