Climate control not working as expected
Former 2IS owner and new to the 3IS world. I used to set my climate control to 74F in the 2IS but its too hot for me on the 3IS. I feel like I have to set it at 68F to get the same temperature on the 3IS. How do I go about diagnosing this issue? Is it something to do with a sensor?

Do you have temperature sensor data on the difference? It is a pretty subjective measure if you are going based on feel. The temp sensor locations and temperature control algorithms may be different between 2IS and 3IS as well.
I second what Pittsy mentioned as well. There are quite a few cases of the one or two of the vents blowing hot air even when LO temp is set and other vents blowing cold (I personally had this issue).

I feel the temperature used can vary greatly based on outside conditions. For example, when it's 75 degrees and humid outside, setting it to 74 isn't going to do much to help with the thick, damp air making it feel hotter than it is. That being said, I don't know that I ever set it as high as 74 here in Texas.
I'd be dying at 74 degrees. I keep mine, in all of my cars past and present, at 68-70. I doubt there is anything wrong with your car, or if there is/was, it was the 2IS temperature calibration and not the 3IS.
Agreed with the above answers - also, I suspect that the nav / screen exhausts some heat through the center vent because mine are always ever-so-slightly warmer than the side vents. 69* is the sweet spot for my 3IS.
I think the way this climate control system works is there's some kind of temperature sensor in the cabin, so it keeps pushing out hot air until it reaches that temperature. 74 is hot, so at first when it's cold, I have it on high, when I feel it start to get warm, I put it on 68-70 for comfort. Even the A/C is too cold on low, I have to put that on 66 sometimes when it's too cold.

Climate control is sometimes great, sometimes not so much. It always puts out heat in the morning when its relatively cold here in the SF Bay Area.
In the afternoon it almost never puts out any heat when the sun is out, no matter the temperature. It must be the temp sensor in the cabin. If it's
low to mid 60s, I can't get heat, it seems. I just leave it off. It is what it is.

74F would also be too hot for me
a very simple way to check is if you have a home temp meter like:

bring it and put it somewhere neutral like right dead center of the car or back of arm rest and see what Temps you get
also: i never face the Heater or A/C Vents to my face...not sure if its a old wives' tale but i heard its not great for the skin
