Why does the RC and the grills look much better than the IS version? It took me a while to develop a liking for my IS300's front grills but it feels lacking in comparison to the RC's appearance. Something about the RC looks much more better even though they are the nearly identical. The difference that I see between the two is just the amount of doors

I mean no one can really answer that for you since this is personal opinion but the bumper style is different and so is the car's dimensions, the RCF is a bit more wider. They both look good to me.
For a long time I thought I liked the looks of the IS better than the RC. However the RC F itself is, to me, a lot better looking than the regular RC. I agree with swaangin though it's obviously up to you what you like. Personally, I still think the RC F is far better looking, probably due to the use of dark chrome and the wheel options on it, as well as the different diffuser, grills, etc.
Looks are subjective, but for some reason I personally think the RC 350 F Sport looks better overall than the RCF, and I can't really explain why, It just does to me. I'd love to own an RCF though
But yeah a coupe vs a sedan, the coupe is gonna look more sporty.
Heres the way I dice it up. I think that the RCF Front bumper and fender/sideskirt, and trunk/wing are better looking than the regular RC. I think the regular RC Hood and Rear bumper looks superior to the RCF. I think if the next gen IS incorporated the aggressive front oil and tranny cooler vents, aggressive side skirts, and sharklet rear bumper trim from the RC, and an active wing like the RCF, you would truly have a mean looking machine..
These are all very good observations! I never really thought the RC F Sport was different in comparison to the IS300 F Sport. I only thought it was a 2 door version with a more juiced up engine. I agree with Pittsy that if they incorporated the RC design onto the newer IS300s it would look better. Thinking about that look would be a good refresh!
That's probably why pictures of the IS300 F Sport doesn't look so good at all angles in comparison to the RC F Sport. When I saw my IS300 F Sport in real life, I was more impressed because they actually look better in person than online. Maybe it's the people taking the pictures, who knows?

I always liked the IS better, on the front end. RC better on the rear end.
The front end on the RC looks like it belongs on a longer car, or a coupe. I think it fits the RC well but would not on the IS. .
The next coming IS (facelift) is said to be a bit longer, maybe itll look a little more like the RC. Hopefully they dont go towards the ES...not a big fan on the looks over there these days. Even the LC front end I don't like much. The current design Lexus has which is similar across the models really fits the IS and RX best imo. Not that I think any of the others look bad. Best looking car mfg. all around...
I really like the front of the IS, especially the 2017+ I think it looks very "menacing" and very sporty....As said by Homer, the front of the IS looks great but the rear of the RC looks great. I know looks are all subjective but I really like the tail lights of the RC from 2019+ (or the RCF 2020). Now I prefer the headlight of the RC's pre-MMC better than my triple beam. I always liked the "DRL" separate from the light assembly - The current NX's F Sport model looks amazing on the front too....
