Exclamation Steep Driveway Troubles With Low 3IS

Hey everyone,

Like the thread title says, this will be regarding driveways. My IS is lowered with 2.5 inches left of ground clearance and it will scrape if I try to go down my own driveway like a normal sedan would. I have made a rough diagram of my driveway setup here, but my main problem is that my driveway has a high center-point that the only way I can get in and out of my driveway is to actually drive up on the lawn next to the driveway then back out at an angle along the entrance to the driveway to get to the street. Are there any gentle incline ramps that I can possibly get? Or would I have to continue to resort going onto the grass? As of late there has been a lot of rain and the grass has now become mud so I risk getting stuck trying to get in/out. I cannot park my car on the curb in front of my house because of my neighborhood's HOA as the curb in front of my house has a "No Parking Anytime" sign. Anyways if any of you have neat little tips or resources I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks again!

Mine is not lowered,
but steep driveways are a problem for me.
Already had a $1200 incident.

Not quite following your diagram, but could the high point be cut/ground down?
Although a better investment would be a better neighborhood, tell those **** HOA folks to go to H.

Unfortunately that would have go through the city hall and then the HOA.

On some coilover kits, you have some that can raise themselves to master high obstacles. Maybe a thing to consider.

But generally on the 3IS, the height of the car is pretty right. Every lowering will bring usability restrictions that could not be overcome. If your problem continues, maybe raising your setup from half an inch wouldn't be bad.

whenever i hear people with such problems, i always think of this:

i'm a little too old and had dropped rides in the past and they can be a nightmare in major cities like K-Town in Los Angeles...on a 2in drop, there were some entrances where i would have to go super slow

couldn't imagine anyone going any lower in places like NYC (bad roads, lots of potholes) or like downtown LA

in all seriousness, i would go with Wood man

they are cheap so you can put them somewhere near the driveway where it won't be consider trash and thrown out by the garbageman and wood holds up well during inclement weather (not as good as plastic)

if you wanna go plastic, they shouldn't weigh too much so you could keep them in the trunk

i still would go with Wood ramps because as long as they do not violate any city ordinances (street cleaning, trash pick up) you should be fine leaving them in the driveway
