It would be interesting to see if you swapped both if the unit functioned normally like your old unit before it started rebooting.
That's actually a great idea. Perhaps when I should purchase the radio from the ad and try swapping both and see what happens. I don't see why they would go so far as to have the marrying done at a hardware level.

Hello Aransingh,
I have not pulled the trigger on this yet. I havent found one I have been confident in. I did see on another post that some members were trying to reach out to Lexus corporate to get them to fix the radio for them. One member had been successful, the other I am not sure yet.

I am having the same issue in 2023. I have a 2014 IS350 with faceplate P10436. It's been impossible to find the same faceplate online and the dealer here in Canada is asking for $4K to replace the unit. Anyone have luck swapping the radio with a different plate number?

For the eBay ad, it states it will fit 250 C (convertible) as well, which is really a 2IS body style, which has a completely different radio altogether...so there's no way it would fit.

Based on the list below, it looks like a P10998 radio will physically fit/plug into an IS, but may not be functionally compatible...plus you would likely need a micro SD card with the correct map data...so that's another $200.
You will notice that the part numbers are different, this is likely due to the fact that the radio comes with the mounting brackets, therefore a different package part number than the actual radio itself.
Can you tell me where the screenshot is from??
I am dealing with a similar issue in an IS350 convertible. Radio head unit blew when changing the battery... my part number is 86130-53501 and it looks like the 86130-53500 is compatible, with only difference being one is a six CD changer and the other is a single CD.
thanks!
