HID high beam getting stuck
Hey I was wondering if anyone had encountered this problem before. I have a Canadian market car which comes with a single projector HID. I noticed recently that my passenger side headlight gets stuck on high beam. This happens after I use the high beam in the always-on mode or after I just flick the switch to flash someone. I can get it back to normal after about 10-20 flicks of the high beam switch. It’s not a huge issue but I don’t want to be blinding people from behind or oncoming traffic.
It's likely your solenoid or shutter mechanism sticking. Not sure which, but either requires complete replacement of the headlight. You can open it up and try to tinker but i'm guessing that by you posting this, you aren't about that. So you're looking at a new headlight, especially if it's one side sticking. then you know it's not your stalk or relay before the light.
been working w/ bi-xenon shutters/mechanisms for over 10 years, done plenty of swaps. so i know the system!

I see thanks! I’ve done an hid retrofit before so I might take a crack at opening it up to see if I could fix the issue. Might as well right if The only other option is a full replacement haha. Any tips on what do once I’ve got it open in terms of like trouble shooting?
