Default Top 5

Just acquired an 2016 is200t after my 2007 250 was totaled by my insurance. Just curious what are the top 5 add-ons including gauges ie boost or other monitoring electronics the community is doing.

current plans are:
Wheels of course. Was able to keep my TCIIIs
intake
exhaust
coils (if I can sell my old ones to put towards new ones)
front lip

RR racing ECU Tune
RCF Bushings

^Of all the mods I've done to my car, the two listed above were the best ones.

didn't realize RR racing had an ECU tune for the 200t, I must have missed that. Also lexus didn’t fix that LCA bushing or is that a different one?

Just looked on the RR racing site and you're right I do not see it listed for the 200t, but I could have sworn I've heard of other 200T owners on this site that say they have the RR racing tune, so maybe giving RR racing customer service a quick email or call to find out.

About the LCA bushings. In all 3GIS models, the LCA bushing are pretty soft rubber. Upgrading to the stiffer RCF/GSF bushings made the car handle a bit better and reduce inner tire wear.

They are supposedly working on one, but right now everyone is running the Orange Virus ECU Tune (OV tune) and some are still running the TTI ECU tune. The rest are either stock or running piggybacks like me.

Not a commonly heard one, but my 1st was full LED swap on interior lights. That was like day 3.
Now that I think of it I still need to do the puddle lights, or whichever those are in the side view mirrors.

Then it was intake and cabin air filters. Eventually the list grew but on the top of that was exhaust which youve noted and RSR down springs matched with spacers. Dramatically improved appearance and got the drive/handling I wanted out of the springs.

I spoke with them recently on this actually. The project has been placed on hold for right now. Should be something they get to next year.

will have to get those bushings for sure. Had 2nd gen 250 and that was a pain.

been checking those posts on this site for the last couple of days. Still wish the there was more aftermarket support. If the new Supra and frs/brz which are also Toyota products and Toyota ECUs are getting support don’t know why Lexus IS not. Especially since they did the turbo to keep up with the Jones and appeal to “younger” crowd.

I would look at the racechip GTS for the 200t. I'd be pretty tempted if I had a 200t, but the stock tune on the 350 works for my daily driver purposes.

As far as the ECU goes, OV Tuned (Orange Virus) has been developing a tune for the IS200t for better powerband, boost control, throttle mapping, and fuel mapping. They have completely revised all the maps and tables in the ECU to increase power, efficiency, and reduce the throttle input lag.

So these are both piggy backs? I have to look into racechip and see what they’re about. I’ve seen the discussions here with OV and TTI maybe I missed if racechip was mentioned in that thread.

I believe RaceChip ended up not giving the be results. They also do not provide dyno results which is typically a red flag.

Check out the IS200t Tune thread. It is massive but has all the info you need.

Idk anything about GTS but OV is an ECU tune not piggyback.

What about Tom’s piggy back? Looks like some good gains.
